Re: NHL 2008-2009 Season - Playoffs!
Pittsburgh still hasn't learned.
Detroit has got to be the most boring team in the league. I hate watching them play.

You hate teams who win?
You hate teams with probably the top 3 players in the league?
You hate teams with the best playoff goalie in recent memory?

Mr. Optimism says don't count out the Pens yet. Yes, Munk, I know history shows it's nearly impossible, but that's history. I'm looking at the here and now! ... and the here and now is frustrating me to no end.

Re: NHL 2008-2009 Season - Playoffs!
I think the Pens are playing better than they did last year. They had a few good chances that could've went in but didn't. It's not like Detroit is blowing them out like the first two games last year. Both teams got a few lucky goals, and the more skilled goals went to Detroit so far. But Pittsburgh had a few great chances and their luck was in the opposite direction.
Not to mention the Pens fought back as hard as they could last year and won 2 games, and nearly pushed it to 3 wins. They're a stronger team this time around, so all this talk of "They're done" and "History says they're not going to win" is all talk right now.
I'm sure Munk will tell me I'm wrong, ask me if I've even watched the games, tell me Detroit's going to win, blah blah blah. But whatever. I'm sticking with it until one team wins, and I'm not counting Pittsburgh out.

The sad thing is that you just wrote this: Quote: I think the Pens are playing better than they did last year. They had a few good chances that could've went in but didn't. It's not like Detroit is blowing them out like the first two games last year. Detroit is playing tired and worse than last year, Pittsburgh is playing better. Yet the result is the exact same. Now you know what it feels like to be a Cleveland fan!

The problem for Pitt is that Fluery is sucking it up. If he doesn't start playing up to his potential, they will get swept.

Re: NHL 2008-2009 Season - Playoffs!
So I'm kind of excited for Game 3 tonight. This is the first day in a week where I'm not dead-tired, so I hope to enjoy it more, especially if the Pens take a win.

Good. Now I have a reason to watch Game 4.

We looked extremely tired. Even more so than games 1/2.

It's on VS anyways. It's not like the NHL even cares about Game 4. All they wanted was a 5 game or more series. Now they have it.

Great game to watch. It was nice to see the Pens register a few goals that weren't flukes. Now they need to keep it up for Game 4 and onward. It'd be really nice if they could tie up the series tomorrow and really make this interesting.

I don't think I've seen us play this bad in a LONG time. Awful defense, not much Osgood could do on any of the goals

I'll state the obvious. Whoever wins Game 5 wins the series.
BAM!

Great job by the Pens last night. Winning this next one away for the Pens is necessary, which is obvious, but an away win would be a big confidence boost for them.

Wings are winning tonight.
But Bettman will find a way to make this go 7 so he can make more money.

this is why you dont talk shit in the playoffs, things can change rather quickly. If the wings lose tonight it's over.
