8/10 -> B

The Beatles never lost that X factor that makes their albums great, but this one is IMO one of their weaker albums.

Standouts: Across the Universe, Let It Be, The Long and Winding Road

It's actually not their final album in this sense: It was recorded before Abbey Road even though it was released after it.

Well, with one exception: "I Me Mine" was the last Beatles song recorded. The original version of that song wasn't very well recorded, so in early 1970, George, Paul and Ringo got together and re-recorded "I Me Mine" in order to have one more song for the album. John refused to cooperate, having decided to leave the band right after Abbey Road.

Oh, and one more exception: "Across the Universe" was actually recorded before the "White Album" but was added on to fill "Let it Be" as well.

It's one of their weakest albums but still miles ahead of all other groups at the time. I mean, come on, it has three #1 songs on it: Get Back, Let it Be, The Long and Winding Road.
