Pedophile. And being a snob has nothing to do with your tastes. It has to do with the way you state your opinion of a film and inflate your very own ideas and devalue others. Sort of, but at one time you had to say you liked Casablanca. Once you have stated that you're in.

Casablanca is perhaps the ultimate example of mainstream, assembly line product from the classic Hollywood studio system. It is also, by extension, the exact opposite of a 'snob' film.

I said at one time, implying that as time went on the hate for the film grew. I'll imply better next time.

But hating Casablanca is also unacceptable. It's completely transcendent and timeless. Who hates Casablanca?

Re: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
I'd say it is overrated, vastly even, but I'd still save it from drowning in its own muck of silly plot twists at the point of a gun and random pairing of British accents to French officers by stating that Bogart was still a class act.

C- The hate comes from the fact that its so highly regarded. If the film had no acclaim to it, I probably would enjoy it more. Then why not disregard the claim and grade it based purely on the film itself?

As Benjamin gets younger, the thread gets dumber! I think Magnus is currently in the "Cate Blanchett beckoning him off the roof" phase!

You people are making me want to go seek comfort in that thread in Real Life where it's just two people babbling at each other for 50 pages.

Yeah, but no one in that thread fessed up to masturbating to infamous Nazi propaganda films. Stay here. It's more fun.

And Lecter, so are you, only you're not cool enough to be an elitist. What does that make you? I think the first comment speaks for itself, there's no need to even comment And no, even IF I needed that I would NOT be desperate enough to watch HSM3 for that. Many films, but not that. I think I would not be able to spend much time with this person on principle! haha HSM3 is an enjoyable experience, albeit a film with no artistic quality. Why does every movie ever have to be artistic? Can't some of them just be for fun?

Dude. We totally make the Critic's forum interesting again. Better than a bunch of wannabe hack writers high-fiving and back-slapping each other for their equally banal and useless reviews.

I agree that the second option is irritating but I don't know if I'd say y'all are making it "interesting" again. In fact, the constant snobbery everywhere is making you, in essence, actually less interesting. I mean, you all are "high-fiving and back-slapping each other" too.

Every movie is "artistic" by its very nature. We need to discard the idea of art as a compliment. If you find a movie "fun", it's because its art is doing something correctly. It's up to you to identify what/how that is.

Re: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
I think Munky got it right in his review, saying it tried to be a lot of things. Where it tried the most was to be this emotional wallop of an epic film, but it just failed in that aspect. And without that, in retrospect, its become very bland for me.

The Plastics? Can we stop talking about HSM3 and Ashley Tisdale already? Jesus. I get the point, people.
