Re: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
I'm thoroughly amazed right now. If I'd known some of you would have a freakout over my post I wouldn't have bothered.
Once again, as I stated, I've thought what I posted in the first place for a while now and this Benjamin Button thread just happened to be the one that I said something in. It's not like while reading through this thread I got to one particular post and did a spit-take or something. Also, not to be snippy, but there's no way you can tell me what post incited my response. FYI, it could have been an earlier post and I just didn't have time to respond as I don't live in this site.
Jeez. I apologized for my snippiness in response to snippiness, I apologized for the wrong word usage in the "movie"/"discussion" instance and still some of you persist. I have other things to do tonight so just forget I said anything.

The complete lack of character present in the final product is a direct result of the fact that no one ever says anything unique or illuminating. You don't need a lot of dialogue. But you do need good dialogue.
How does a lack of words and speech suggest Ben is average? Average people don't speak? What?
Why invoke Twilight? Why not Phantom of the Opera? Or Edward Scissorhands? Or the Grinch? Or the thousands of other movies that fit that paradigm?
I'll grant you that it's like Twilight in that both movies approach their fantastical elements with a leadenness usually reserved for CBS prodedurals. ... doesn't fit your arbitrary guidelines for proper movie conversation? 'Cause that was the post that kick-started Benjamin Milk's retreat into the fetal position, and your heroic rescue of him. haha okay I finally get the point people have been trying to make; I overreacted and got too defensive of a dissenting oppinion. Is that it? In response I say yes, it makes perfect sense to dissagree with people and dissenting or reacting to someone's post negatively is part of a forum like this. I still don't think this rude and bitchy attitude is necessary but fine, I won't get so upset when people are "mean" like that ( and yes I realize I sound like I'm in 5th grade and telling the bullies to give me my lunch money back). Satisfied everyone?

You're right, I am severely disappointed in yoshue's bashing. Really, I expected better.

Yeah, seriously, yoshue has been much meaner in the past. At least wait until he starts mocking your film taste and bringing up your past indiscretions to cry foul.

You're right, I am severely disappointed in yoshue's bashing. Really, I expected better. Exactly! Bashing? What? We're more or less just talking about the movie. Jesus! Some of you guys are really insecure. This is the thread for discussion, good, bad, or other. We're only allowed to suck the movie's dick in this thread? What?

It succeeds on its inoffensive, modest terms. What is so hard to believe about this? Are we all just so damn cool?

I guess you actually can. ; )

Shit, I like Speed Racer too.
And hate The Matrix/Bound
Is that possible?
I feel like part of the snob club now.

And Lecter, so are you, only you're not cool enough to be an elitist. What does that make you? I think the first comment speaks for itself, there's no need to even comment And no, even IF I needed that I would NOT be desperate enough to watch HSM3 for that. Many films, but not that. I think I would not be able to spend much time with this person on principle!

The true snob is able to recognize and appreciate the artistic merit in movies as broadly ranged as The Double Life of Veronique to - in this case - High School Musical 3. Anyone who says something like, "I'm a film snob, so I hate genre x" is completely missing the point, and is likely attending alternative education classes.
