And Milk.

Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Actually, it'd be a great idea if they expanded Slumdog to 800 this weekend and 1,500 the next.

I'm quite surprised that the only film expanding a whole lot is The Reader. It's pretty stupid, really.

It's because of the theater averages. They are not that high for the 2. Plus in the theaters they have (likely major ones in big cities; not small rural theaters) they have more competition for screens. Plus, I'm sure they are demanding a decent percentage compared to older films that have been in their theaters for a while.

Any guesses as to how much above 2200 The Unborn will end up with?

I wonder whether Revolutionary Road can pull in $1+ milion this weekend.

I think so...

Expanding The Reader fast is actually a very good idea. It is not getting great reviews and Oscar buzz won't be big either. It is probably at its peak now with several GG noms...even then, I don't see it making more than $1.5 million this weekend. It'll be lucky to make $12 million in total (will probably only happen if Winslet wins..)

Slumdog Millionaire losing theatres does not make any sense. Its PTA last weekend was better than mfor most movies on release.

Gran Torino and Doubt should have gone wider this weekend.
