in. As films get more and more frontloaded, and since OOTP's opening would've been around 115m if it was released on a Friday, this should happen. I think a 120-125m OW, and a $300m total. People think that this stupid teaser is going to work against this movie; yeah, Harry Potter's too big for that to be the case (not to mention, it was only shown in front of IMAX crowds, so it's not like this caused an actual uproar)

In for sure. If it were summer I'd see it easily above 120, but school will prevent a people from rushing out and seeing it at midnight/opening day.

Na this will be a longer trailer maybe over 1 min trailer. The only reason why that trailer was so small was because all it was doing was telling people that Harry Potter was coming to I-Max.

Yeah I'm pretty certain this will open on the Wednesday. However, 150M 5-day is looking really, really, really good. That's $10,284,843 (+7.36%) above OotP's 5-day. If you adjust for inflation (saying $7.25 is the average '09 price), OotP's 5-day would be $147,228,908.

150 million 5 day for HBP is a lock at this point. Inflation and the increase in IMAX theaters should take care of that. It should be able to crack the top 5, 5 day openings.

Well, this club's fucked if they do the same thing they did with OOTP and move it to Wed, then u should change it to a 160 5 Day club.

I don't see why not. It'd have to have an OD no less than 45M, but HP5 would have made 45M if not a little higher on a FRI. WB will surely give HP6 a bigger midnight push thanks to TDK's midnight success, so with inflation + higher midnights, an OD around 50M should be reasonable, which should lock in a 120M OW. And even if it's more frontloaded than ever, and it receives a multipler weaker than any other Potter film before it, 115M should still happen with a 50M OD.

Well a 50 OD is already locked if it comes out on Friday. It'd increase 5-10M from OOTP's Wednesday if it came out on a Wed, but it should add about 5M more with a Friday release. So I'm thinking 55M minimum for Friday, It could actually come close to Spidey 3's OD. I'm predicting 57M right now. Here's my Day to day predicts:

Figured you would. And it's actually pretty realistic. The OD is only 12.8M more than OOTP, and with IMAX being a lot more popular, it coming out 2 years later so Tickets cost more, and it opening on a Friday make that extremely possible.

Well, with Friday, I see at the least a 54m OD and at the most a 57m OD. Though you never know, with ticket prices higher and IMAX and an expected huge marketing campaign, it may come clsoe to Spidey 3's OD.

I'd be predicting 59M for it's OD if TF2 didn't come out in IMAX, because HBP will loose probly 30-40 IMAX Screens because of it.

An OD well over 50M is probably asking for a little too much. The Potter films are consistent.

The biggest increase was between HP2 and HP3, a 20% increase. Though the move to summer contributed a great deal to that. Since HP5 opened in the summer, and HP6 is also opening in the summer, I don't think a 20% increase over HP5 is possible. 20% is needed for an OD of 55M. I'd just go more with an increase similar to the current trend of HP3-HP5, so something in the mid-high single digits. Meaning around 47/48. However, HP5 would have probably made around that had it opened on a FRI, so let's give HP6 the same increase assuming a 47M OD for HP5 had it opened on a FRI. That would then give HP6 an OD around 49-51M. Which is the most likely scenario, imo.
