Oh and I love a downer ending. There is a lot about how the Joker does things that really goes unanswered. but the movie does suggest that he recruited not only mobsters but also prisoners from the insane asylum (forget its name). Unlike Batman '89, Nolan clearly didn't want to surround the Joker with "clowns." It's effective. True, I did like the efficiency of this Joker.

One of the things I noticed on my third viewing: how does Bruce Wayne get a batman uniform so quickly at the fundraiser that the Joker crashes? Isn't it at his penthouse?

Munk·E wrote: JURiNG wrote: No need to say more (this is what I hate when I got to see a movie after everyone else). Bloody brilliant! A No, say more. This movie's pacing is what surprised me the most. It's pretty fast, I don't know why the hell I was expecting something slow-paced. Though, it's sometime too fast, which was my only minor flaw with this movie. Not that I couldn't follow the story, but sometimes it moved too quick and just missed the opportunity in adding some more effective moment. I'd say give me some room to breath would be better. (did I just say 'give me some room to breath'? wow!) And it was such an amazing job, how this movie handled its characters (which are many) to shine through and left no one forgotten. Everything else just met my high expectation. I'm highly satisfied and impressed in just about everything in this movie. But if I have to choose one thing above of the rest, it'd be the cast. Everyone was great. Even friggin' Freeman was great. But yes, even though, the star of the show is Heat Ledger with the soon to be called a legendary performance. He's such a perfect Joker. I have to admit I'm one of those -maybe the only one- who weren't too impressed with Nicholson's Joker. Ledger's Joker is insane, crazy, scary and surprisingly human -without come across cheesy-.. all in the same time. Someone mentioned the score. Well, I loved it. It's funny that I'd talk about the action last thing (amongst all the other things) in a summer blockbuster review. Let me just say; when it comes to the action, it's jaw-dropping. AOk now? btw, I've been told that Wall-E is coming out here next week!

 Re: The Dark Knight
1. why didn't anyone react when the school bus crashed into the bank at the beginning? 2. how was Gordon able to fake his own death without SOMEONE realizing what was going on? more imporantly, how did he get to the location of the batman/joker showdown? 3. no one in gotham can see into bruce wayne's condo and see him sitting there in full batman gear? 4. Are we supposed to believe the Joker just left the fundraiser party after throwing rachel out the window? 5. how exactly did the Joker get half of the mob's money if it was all in Hong Kong? just a few...

That always bothered me, especially since it's the very first thing it happened in the movie. Perhaps, Gotham City police is just that bad. 2. Gordon probably had the whole thing planned out incase things go nuts on the ceremony, which it did. And yeah, what BJ said. 3. That's just nitpicking. Maybe the glass is like the one in interrogation rooms: nobody can see Bruce but Bruce can see everybody. 4. Why not? Who was there to stop him? Besides, his target, Harvey Dent, wasn't there. 5. IDK. Maybe I missed something.

Nitpicking 2. BJ answered 3. There is no building facing his penthouse, and all the other buildings around his are at a distance. 4. Why not? He didn't find Harvey so he left.

 Re: The Dark Knight
so yeah i just watched it again last night. It's even better the second time. Easily the greatest superhero movie of all time. It's a shame Ledger gives such a great performance because it completely overshadows a fantastic performance by Eckhart.
Still an A-.
1. TDK - A- 2. Spidey - A- 3. Spidey 2 - A- 4. Batman Begins - A- 5. X2 - A- 6. Superman Returns/Iron Man - A-

Your right, BB was slighlty bland at times and lack charasma, while TDK has very charasmatic and always vivid . But seriously, you're very much right, and the best sequels of all time are different from their first film. (and to add on a note, Back to the Future Part 2 and Dead Man's Chest were very different in tone, theme, and story structure, and although they aren't highly regarded, I am a huge fan of both)
