 Re: The Dark Knight
Hmmm, nope, Pixar and Co are much, much, much better. The Incredibles, Ratatouille, Wall-E, Finding Nemo > The Dark Knight, Memento, Batman Begins, Prestige.

 Re: The Dark Knight
Hmm, then maybe it is Nolan because Bird has only done two films (although in my opinion, both are better than even the Dark Knight, but that's just me)

 Re: The Dark Knight
The Dark Knight was a satisfying moviewatching experience for me; but it lacked (or diverted from) the originality and the powerful undercurrents of the Batman legend that I saw in the first half of its precedessor Batman Begins.
Seeing TDK was like eating a plate of food with assorted flavors. It offered a little of everything: skyfalling and carchasing actions, the crazy "jokes" The Joker cracked, a melodramatic episode of Rachel's love and death, and a quasi-philosophical search for the nature of crimes and the good in the human race. The movie looked "cool" (and it seemed the filmmakers indulged themselves in this "coolness" to the extent that they were willing to compromise the inner depth of the story). But it was too "safe" a film project that hardly ventured anything deep and new.
Ledger's The Joker was comparable to Jigsaw in the Saw series. But he was more prolific on the damage scale. The "boat dilemma" The Joker pulled near the end of the movie looked like a game Jigsaw would play with his victims.
Devoid of the futuristic feel of Gotham City in Batman Begins, TDK was frequently greeted with scenes of skyscrappers in Chicago and Hong Kong. Camerawork was more "realistic" this time around. Shiny white lights were more welcomed in this installment than last.
I enjoyed TDK very much but I expected more from it.
Grade: Yet to be decided...

 Re: The Dark Knight
So this thread is now the fifth biggest review thread in this forum, behind only Children of Men, The New World, Spider-Man 3, and King Kong. And it's only 100 replies behind CoM for top spot.
Yeah, I think it'll beat it.

 Re: The Dark Knight
The Lord of the Rings trilogy. (3 movies, whether you like it or not, all 3 have different tones and are much different) King Kong. (A beautiful film and also, a masterpiece.)

 Re: The Dark Knight
King Kong was very good but far too long. It could have been a masterpiece had Peter Jackson decided to edit the movie. I have to agree with Magnus on this one. Nolan hasn't really made a bad movie yet. Even his worst movie (Insomnia) is decent.
