That said, I've just seen it and... wow. It really is bloody brilliant. Top to bottom. If anything, I actually preferred the scenes in space to Earth.

 Re: WALL-E
Anyone know of a good place to get audio clips of the film that I can change into ring tones?

 Re: WALL-E
As expected, after the Hype has passed the movie is now seen as a good/great animation picture and nothing more.

It never did catch onto the mainstream like many of us originally thought, but unlike what some of us where led on to believe, but I am pretty sure this is more than just a "good/great" animation piece in the eyes of film lovers and critics alike, much like Ratatouille last year.

What I am disappointed in is it's Yahoo ranking. It fell out of the Top 10 of all-time rather quickly. But every film lover has been amazed by it. STUPID REGULAR PEOPLE!!!

 Re: WALL-E
The whole love story angle is beautifully done, but the human commentary felt Idiocracy-lite.

 Re: WALL-E
Yeah unless this thing holds like sub-20% this weekend I'll have to admit it really didn't "catch on" with the general moviegoing public...that sounds like I'm shortchanging the film's very good $225+ million performance, but we all know a movie this good deserved to have done much better, north of $300 million.

 Re: WALL-E
Admitedly, I haven't had much time to post on this forum, let alone see movies. I had to see this film though and did so in Florida last week. It was, without a doubt, the best Pixar film and that is saying a lot considering the great movies they have made. The breathtaking cinematograhy on Earth left me not caring whether they went to space...I was so enthralled. The romance between WALL-E and Eve is epic. One of cinema's great romances? You betcha. The lack of dialgoue had no affect and the environmental message came through brillianty, not subtle, yet not preachy at all.
A+

 Re: WALL-E
Ratatouille is a full story while Wall-E is just trying to pull your heart strings and make you say "how cute"
However, Wall E is a great film nonetheless.

 Re: WALL-E
Wall-E is a love story. Completely.
Ratatouille is the quintessential "leaving home, and becoming yourself" story. It's really just a matter of what fits you.
For me, the romance wins hands down.
And now, to bump the best reviewed film of the year up!

 Re: WALL-E
I really enjoyed Wall-E a lot more than I thought I would. The first part of the film was really amazing, and had a very artistic feel to it.
I had a few minor problems with the movie - I thought it lost a little steam in the last half, and it was a little heavy handed with its message, but overall it was a very enjoyable movie.
Grade: A-
