Hm... I don't know about it being rated PG-13 but this will definatly make more than Sky Captain.

got a new prediction
with the new prediction Ive got it topping out at 85m with a 24m opening wknd and an opening wknd theater count a little over 3000 theaters. I also predict that it will be able to keep over 1000 of its theaters till Memorial day wknd. with an average drop in the 45% range than in the 25% range through june and july.

This is a Sky Captain clone. Both movies are trying to do "something different". Instead of just regular old shooting, both movies go above and beyond and put some style into it that only certain people can like and/or appreciate. Both have A-rated stars. And of course, both are/were being super-hyped on the internet, leading to $20+ million opening predictions, which will go completely wrong.

It will do better than Sky Captain, it has a background for a start, it has a comic book fan base and has much better acclaimed stars. You watch my prediction, and watch the Box Office for Sin City, they'll be identical.

This movie is a guaranteed R. There is no way in hell this is PG13. Sin CIty .. the title speaks for itself. Drugs, Sex (well, not much from what i've read so far) and violence.
I agree with everyone who said it has a kill bill vibe. Its fanbase seems very Tarentinoish to me as well. It will make Kill Bill numbers unless it turns into a sleeper hit and makes even more.

I think it will do well as buzz has been good, and the marketing will probably be strong. However, the multiplier is bound to be weak as it always is for this type of film. Elektra just goes to show how frontloaded these films can be. However, even the ones with the best legs, such as Kill Bill Vol. 1, can't manage a multiplier of much more then 3 without major holidays or summer weekdays. I'd say it should have a multiplier of about 2.3.

Whoops. Sorry guys.
I took a wild guess to the rating. I figured Dimension would want, with this sort of cast, a PG-13 rating.
I haven't seen the trailers

I dunno what the theatercount will be, but if it opens in about 2,500-2,800 theaters the numbers could look like this:
Opening Weekend: 39m
Total Gross: 122m
Cheers!

This one is hard to predict, but I'm hoping it's going to make a lot ...
Opening - $32 million
Closing - $74 million
