Jennifer Garner shows she can do comedy in her A+ performance in 13 Going on 30. Alias sees her as a new person every week, one minute showing the deafining confidence of a superstar, the next a vunerable college graduate who just wants to be loved. Her acting performance lifted Daredevil from unbearable to watchable, and she can definately do the same for Elektra however bad it is. So no, shes not over-rated, if anything - shes under-rated. Actresses like Jennifer Lopez get far more coverage and hype than Garner - yet Lopez is mediocre at the best of times. At least, Elektra's BO ends the discussion about Jennifer Garner being the reason for Daredevil's 100 million BO. If anything Elektra was lucky to get some of the people's $ from the fans of Daredevil or her BO numbers would be even lower then they are. What was this weekend's drop 70 %. That's pretty serious. So sorry maybe the 3 time will be a charm for her BO. So what is up next.
The only thing i can say about Garner being in Daredevil is that she made that movie watchable - she looked really fineeee and she was the only one even bothered about trying to act in that movie. God it sucked.
Elektra's alot better though - and i dont think we can blame the 70% decline soley on the film - the weather made all films drop pretty significantly harder than people were expecting. Which is bad news for Elektra who really was going to make most of its money in week one and 2, now the theaters will drop off hard as will its box office.
Thing is - critics are very wrong about this film; and when you read that many bad reviews, you go into the theater expecting the worst [the few of you who do go into the theater] or, and this happens more often, you see the film wanting to look for the negatives - wanting to pick out the things that critics slammed and blow them up. As i settle down to watch Catwoman in about 10 minutes, Im going to watch it with the same attitude i did Elektra - and see if i enjoy it too.

I really don't understand the whole "garner" being the saviour of daredevil. She didn't act bad but its not like her acting was anything good. i mean, it was decent and ordinary ... nothing more ... yes she looked hot but i no longer believe that people go to movies to watch someone hot anymore.
The only reason i was ok with daredevil was that i did rather enjoy the fight sequences. everything else about it was cliche filled and a joke.

I have to agree that she was a big reason why Daredevil was watchable. But, I would go more with the bad guys. I liked Bullseye, and the big guy (man, I forgot his name again), and Elektra had the potential in the film. Otherwise, rather bland. So, she wasn't the savior, but she did help.

You know, I thought that, but then I thought he was the bad guy in The Punisher. Then I thought of the Woody Harrelson/Randy Quaid movie from a few years back. So I figured that was wrong.
