Not sure if all of these are romantic comdedies but if My Big Fat Greek Wedding is considered a comedy, then here are some others to be considered for your list: Ghost, When Harry Met Sally, Say Anything, Bridget Jones Diary, Hitch, Music and Lyrics.

I only put ones ive actually seen on the list.
Bridget Jones i thought was decent but nothing special and Hitch i have on the list.
Ghost is not a romcom in my eyes. Its a romantic dramedy.

MBFGW is indeed quite annoying the more I reflect about it. Will never understand the success of that one.

Here's a top 20 of sorts in alphabetical order (hope I'm not forgetting anything big):
A Fish Called Wanda
Amelie
Annie Hall
Big
Beautiful Thing
Bringing Up Baby
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Four Weddings and a Funeral
Peggy Sue Got Married
Pretty Woman
Punch-Drunk Love
Sense and Sensibility
Shakespeare in Love
Some Like it Hot
The Philadelphia Story
The Wedding Singer
Tootsie
Trust
When Harry Met Sally
Working Girl

* Glad to see the mention of a movie such as Sliding Doors. And While You Were Sleeping, which also just missed this list. Underrated stuff.

EDIT: adding Peggy Sue Got Married! Sorry, My Best Friend's Wedding, you're out.

I've only included mainstream, major audience romcoms. Although AMELIE is indeed a romantic comedy in many respects, i dont see it as one. Its my favourite movie of all time though.

I'll add in ONE FINE DAY because i completely forgot about it.
Also to be added: FOUR WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL, WHEN HARRY MET SALLY and BIG.
Have never seen While you were sleeping though.

Glad this thread has got people talking about a regularly maligned genre here. Good to see guys throwing their support behind the genre!

I actually thought Michael had mentioned While You Were Sleeping, among so many past hits, so this was like going through a time warp since the mention of it came after my post, LOL... you'll love it, I'm sure. ;) It's actually one of Sandra Bullock's most aclaimed roles and the movie itself is extremely cute...

Of all the movies there, I'd say Love Actually is my favorite. I usually find myself rooting for the b-couples in romantic comedies anyways, so a movie full of them works.

I'm ambivalent about Down With Love and The Break-Up, but I give the movies credit for thinking artistic ambition is required from more than just the set designer and Frank Sinatra.

Never Been Kissed is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. Truly incompetent. It's kind of like There Will Be Blood or Sweeney Todd where there's no one to root for, except with this it's not done on purpose. And I like Drew Barrymore in romantic comedies too--being able to convince you she's in love with Adam Sandler is a rare gift.

Nobody has mentioned KISSING JESSICA STEIN, big surprise. It's fan-fucking-tastic! That and WHEN HARRY MET SALLY are my two favorites.

Also loved LOVE ACTUALLY and BRIDGET JONES.

WHILE YOU WERE SLEEPING is definitely Sandra Bullock's best peformance to date. I'd rate it higher than MISS CONGENIALITY.

What can I say, the bitch makes me cry.

When does she make you cry? I'm trying to remember any part in the movie that was cry-worthy. I liked the movie a lot, but it was not a tear jerker.

The end of that movie is the cutest thing I've ever seen. One of my favorite romcom endings.

The RomCom is looking scarce this year.

Definitely Maybe
He's Just Not that Into You
Four Christmases

Next year im obviouslyhyped about

The Ghosts of Girlfriends Past.
Mark Waters directs.
Jennifer Garner, Matthew McConaghey, Michael Douglas and Lacey Chabert are in it.

And as well as JENGARN being incredible, matt mconagay shirtless and lacey chabert in general are easy on the eyes. Mark Waters is one of the better comedy directors of recent years.

Definitely, Maybe is one of the best romantic comedies I've seen in quite some time. It's just a complete and utter delight from beginning to end.

I might break down and see Defnitely, Maybe.

AS girl, the romantic comedies of the last few years are just hooking me in, more often then not I opting to watch a DVD of one I have then pay $10 to seen one that looks awful.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding was awful, goddamn Tom Hanks and Rita WIlson, between Castaway, Road to Peredition, and MBFGW, and then awful DaVinci Code is Hanks is on shit list.

I have rewatch Philadelphia and Big to remember why I liked him in the 80's/90's.

Watch Kissing Jessica Stein and then you'll have seen a good one :P. I swear I must be the only person here that has seen that movie ;).

And one of the best of this last year was Ira & Abby. I'd recommend that one.

Kissing Jessica Stein is quite good, indeed.

And I just finished watching of the most poignant and weird love stories I've seen. Harold and Maude, totally deserving of its cult status. I guess you can also call it a romantic comedy of sorts.

In looking through the list, I can't believe no one has mentioned the Princess Bride.

Also as a big fan of Richard Dreyfuss, I wanted to add an oldie but a goodie and plus an Oscar winner, The Goodbye Girl.
