I like most of your Top 100. But Hero is too low!

Is there a list anywhere? I asked before about the one list I found in here, but that list wasn't been followed as far as I could tell.

Anyone else in line? I'd like to do mine while it's on my mind if no one cares.

Jim Halpert was the last one to say he would do his, but then he didn't, so I think you can go ahead.

Ok. Jayhawk, if you were wanting to go ahead of me just say so. I shouldn't be too long though. Maybe...a week? I'm seeing Sweeney Todd, finally, this MON or TUES, that's why I wanted to go ahead and do mine while the topic is fresh on my mind.

I'll begin in a few.

100. Star Wars

Very few sequels can compare with the original, but I think the franchise is one of the more consistent ones except for Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones. And I didn't like Jedi THAT much. So Empire, Sith, and the original rank about the same for me, but I decided to include the original in my list instead of Empire or Sith.

99. Paprika

Quite the surprise. And it's one of just...four non-Disney animated films on my list. Love the story, the score is great. And it's just a very fresh movie in a time filled with mass overload of poor CG films.

98. Ginger Snaps

Very nice example of how a low-budget film can be great. And this film, along with it's sequels, are by far the best werewolf related films, at least for decades. So glad I decided to watch this one random night on some channel.

97. A Nightmare on Elm Street

One of the all time classic horror films. And the entire concept of the movie (franchise) is the element I find to be great, and really sets it apart from all the other "horror" films in the genre. I really need to watch this one again though, it's been forever since I've last seen it.

Yeah, Nightmare had quite a terrifying premise. Scarier than most mainstream horror flicks.

96. Forrest Gump

I love films that touch on all of your emotions, and this one acheives that. I was angry, I cried, I cheered, and I laughed. And it does it very well. And, imo, features the the best performace by Tom Hanks ever.

Well Dead Silence was awful.

But Killer Klowns from Outerspace and IT were far scarier. :fear:

Fucking clowns.

95. Peter Pan (2003)

The best Peter Pan adaptation (save for the Classic Disney one) just had to open near Return of the King. It's such a shame it was so overlooked by the mainstream moviegoer. The film is gorgeous, and the score by Newton Howard is impressive. So unfortunate it was overlooked.

94. Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory

It's been a favorite of mine forever now, and I still love it.

Way better than Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Gene Wilder was perfect in the role. I loved how sarcastic and even mean he was to those rotten children. Wonderful movie!

93. The Sword in the Stone

My second favorite film based on Le Morte d'Arthur, and only the second I've actually enjoyed really. Quite unfortunate this one falls unto the underrated/overlooked category of the Disney classics.

92. The Sixth Sense

The twist ending is enough to have a spot on my list. Not sure when I first saw this (maybe when I was 12/13?), but it was such a shocking blow. One of the single best moments in film for me.

91. American History X

Recommended by my Public Speaking teacher in High School, and I'm so glad I decided to take his word of advice on this film. Not going to write much for the films before the top 50/25 or so by the way.

90. King Kong (2005)

Tough to think of something to say here. It's a great movie, very nice visuals (save for the yeah, you know by now sequence). And the ending gets me EVERY time. It's overlong, but I didnt mind the ride to the island, and thought they could have shortnd just little bits here and there to get it down to 2.5 hours long.

89. The Host

If it wasn't for some KJ reviews here, I probably would have never even seen this. Went above my expectations, and when a movie does that, it's something because I have such high expectations most of the time. The opening attack sequence may be my favorite scene from 2007, if it's not, it's easily near the top. I'd rank it as one of my all time favorite scenes ever actually. And the score is awesome, I really need the soundtrack.

88. Ratatouille

Second favorite Pixar film. And a blind purchase, just like Finding Nemo and Cars were, though Cars wasn't THAT great of a purchase. Beautiful film, and a nice more adult feel than the mass overload of junk CG films being released.

87. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

The much better adaptation. No, I like it just as much as Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory, but the three obvious additions in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory give it the edge.

All time favorite. Never gets old, and is just as good if not better each and everytime I get bored and want to watch it.
