You're not a sheep. But unlike almost everyone else here, you consider films as only ... a passtime. Its a hobby but you're not neccessarily obsessed with it as anyone else on this board. You wish to be entertained. Like most average moviegoers, you do not have the attention span to sit through 3 hours of 2 midgets trying to express their love for each other but are too shy to do so nor do you wish to sit through an action film where the mean lead spends more time wondering why he needs to fight in the first place instead of dropping bombs over men who have enslaved big breasted naked chicks.

You will offer an opinion, when you "CHOOSE" to share one. You consider it to be gracing us. However, none of us feel that way but it doesn't matter. what matters is what goes on in that little head of yours.

You will enjoy films that I think you will like. Then a similar film comes along, and i'm waiting you to give it an A and you'll run in and give it an F. Its not even a disappointment. You just flat out hate it!. This happens quite a few times and I believe it may have something to do with crazy moodswings.

You're also not your typical filmlover. Unlike people like Loyal, you're not an elitist. Unlike Price, you are not a scholar. Unlike Tonymontana, you're not an average moviegoer and unlike many people on the forum, you're not just someone 'who enjoys films'.

You're like a jack of all trades. You have your hands in everything but there is no particular genre or type of filmgoer that one can bunch you into.

Yes. Once again, like many others you know what you want to see. Problem is, not only do you know it, you are terribly excited over it. You're like a woman going through a period. Every sensation just feels much stronger and more often than not, the results aren't always good.

You hype things up yourself. Its a natural response. You may think you don't feel this way but any piece of news thats positive is overly positive. When met by a negative feeling, you often go through a short period of utter disappointment in the news followed by days of spinning it to make it irrelevant.

Then the film comes out and the same cycle happens, except in reverse. You spend time convincing yourself the film was indeed good despite problem A, B, C, D, E, F, T, J , I ,M and overtime, eventually realized that a part of you is dead inside.

It is quite evident that you know your films. The stress here, is specifically on 'your'. From what I have seen, you watch films here that many others do not, a fact that many should learn to accept as a 'non pretentious' thing because as someone outside the US, one should expect you to have seen things that the majority of the population has not.

It is also quite evident that you are aware of this fact. You know most here have seen what .. well .. everyone else has and that you have a plethora of films lying in the vault that no one has seen or even heard of. In your head, that makes you better than them. And you take joy in that. You do not neccessarily want to use this knowledge to put people down. You may on the occasion state how a generic hollywood film is just shit. However, instead of attacking, you take the opportunitty to show people how much more YOU know, as opposed to how little THEY are aware of.

I can't disagree with anything you say. The odd thing is that most would consider me movie obssessed - I have around 2000 DVDs, a HD-DVD player with about 20 movies, and a relatively nice setup to watch them on.

It's just the last few years I have been moving away from seeing movies in the theater, because I much prefer seeing them at home. I went from seeing 20+ movies a year in a bad year at the theater, to seeing about 3 in the theater in 2007. The problem with this is that it removes me from relevant discussion of movies here. I'm always a step behind most people here.

So, it comes off as though I don't care about movies much anymore, but in reality I'm just generally too far behind in the discussion and it's a cold topic now.

It does not mean that I agree with you most of the time but unlike others who try to spin shit around, you actually have realistic expectations for what you are interested in. You also have fun and once again, isn't too serious about stuff. If a film doesn't work out, fuck it, you'll move on unlike others who spend the next few weeks in denial in their neighbour's basements, unable to go home and answer to the countless posters they have of their idols they had been worshipping all this time.

You have the knowledge, you have the interest, you follow it up with actually watching your films and then follow that up with discussion. It is beyond a hobby for you and given the chance, I personally feel you would try to be a part of it.

However, as a person who firmly believes that foreign language films should be seen subtitled instead of dubbed, I honestly do not know your opinion on most films when they first come out because you've seen them in German

You come off as overly casual, quick to judge and a bit like ashwani. However like i said, i'm probably basing this on about 2 or 3 comments I may have read and i'm still not entirely sure if it was you who left them.

I doubt while sitting in a film, you actually follow the entire film considering on occassions, you have been accused of not understanding the story or missing out on vital elements. However, the fact that you choose to ignore these obvious issues just tells me that you're out to provide your stubborn opinionated judgement and are too proud to back down from your opinion.
