I think your own taste is questionable.

I can picture your The Diving Bell and the Butterfly review. It goes something like:

(Actually, our year-end lists are kinda similar. We both liked Hot Rod, and liked Knocked Up more than Superbad  )

I don't think so, since you have no film taste to begin with

My favourite movie last year was Ratatouille. Of the two others I've watched, I disliked both Spider-Man 3 and Shrek 3. How is that an indication that I have no taste in films? Michael loved The Golden Compass. THE GOLDEN COMPASS.

And Roid, I did watch Ratatouille as soon as it came out, so... And I didn't pimp Batman Begins until I watched it.

No seriously. I don't get you. When i usually read your stuff, i do not have to agree with your opinion. But you seem to have a sound mind. Then out of nowhere, you show your love for crappy horror films, new and old, and stupid not even funny movies like Harold and Kumar for reasons beyond my comprehension and i'm left standing wondering W T F. I mean. What the fuck is wrong with you man!

And before someone comes and tells me how politically incorrect it is to say autistic, i've got 2 words for you

fuck off

Film Rank: Everyday Moviegoer.

You're not someone who watches films casually. You enjoy them and your frequency of watching them is much higher than that of someone who just happens to watch them. You do not have a sophisticated idea of judging films yet at the same time, you understand the subtleties of film making. you're not hard to impress yet at the same time, not a sheep.

Not to say you're balanced. I'd say you fall closer to the average filmgoer than anything else but definetely can't be classified with them.
And your interest in films is almost stimulated by your interest in the world of celebrities but unlike the casual gossip loving STAR CHANNEL watching shitheads out there who can't seem to live their lives without know the size of the ring in the finger of Anniston, you're more intelligent and sane minded.

Basically, i wouldn't have an issue watching and discussing movies with you.

Film Ranking: Know it all fanboy.

No. It is not as bad as it sounds. Much like Corpse who seems to enjoy a film solely based upon the knowledge of the people involved and nothing more (which btw, is my opinion, that i have already stated), the same goes for you. Whether you believe it or not, every project involving someone you enjoy (and yes, Garner is being fingered here, though nor sexually, though it would eb nice to get that close) is not only automatically "ON THE LIST TO WATCH" but praised and upon viewing, is spun in the justification in such a way that makes me go 'yea right'.

So where does the know it all comes. It comes with the comparisons. it comes with the justifications. it comes with the hype build up. and its fucking annoying.

however, this same attitude, is actually quite pleasant when you do not have a vested interest in a project. there are certain types of films you don't like and you avoid them and don't spend time bitching about them which i respect. but films you are interested in, or indifferent to, or have no agenda against, your opinion makes a whole lot more entertaining a post to read because you're not trying hard in them to convince anyone of anything. you use the same 'know it all attitide' to instead, justify your feelings towards the film, which says a whole lot more about the film.

like most people in your position who are constantly called out, you have left bits and pieces behind just so you can curb any rumors if they happen, just like Tom Cruise being gay. he has 2 wives to prove hes not and apparently a kid, which proves hes fucked a woman.

Also, as I recall, there was a scene in that 'film' in which two girls were, em, engaged in a kind of competition involving the, em, emptying out of their bowels.

Oh no! My existence is a sham!

Question: us "elitists?" Do we lie about the movies later, or do we convince ourselves during viewing that these awful, boring movies are good? I wanna know how it works so I can try to curb it. And then, later, when we lie about liking the bad movies (or, the beards, if you will), is that a lie or a psychosis?

I must say, Box, you are unsettling me a little bit with that revelation of the Battleshits scene in Harold and Kumar. That's a smoking gun of sorts. I may have to reevaluate my relationship with poop!

Film Ranking: Stubborn Extremist

The fact that 50% of the time, you can write using your head just about almost offsets the fact that the other 50% of the time, you write with a red chilli up your ass and a goat's penis pushing it even further in.

You're fucking opinionated. You have decided well in advance if you will like something, not like something or be completely indifferent to something. While the good news is that you, unlike many people will not use your earlier judgement on the film as the basis for viewing it, it highly dictates IF and WHEN you will see the film.
Now one would say "Arsi you sexy fuckable man. Doesn't everyone?" And I will say "Thats Mr. Arsi to you." But no seriously, everyone does but you're stubborn. you do not give anything a chance. Nothing. Nada.

Which brings me to my next point. You're also a fucking extremist. Never have I read a review from you thats hasn't either been
- The Movie was God's gift to mankind
- The Movie made me wish my mother had aborted me.

If you slightly dislike a film, its like calamity has set in. If you enjoyed a film, it feels like the entire world has bright animated colors with impalas running in the meadows with a nice waterfall and you lying on a rock sipping some whisky as your masseuse gives you a happy ending.

I consider you a filmgoer who 'tries' to convince himself he enjoyed, disliked or was indifferent to a film. Which is why turds such as Sahara slip through and why you sound unconvincing about mediocre pieces of production such as Sweeney Todd.

I think you are pretty much dead on.

I'd say the only person whos films id watch which i can blindly love is Jennifer Garners.
And to be fair, I think i've been getting better in that respect recently.

I mean i may have overhyped Elektra when released, but i certainly didn't with Catch and Release and I genuinely enjoyed The Kingdom.

For the record, I still give elektra a C+ish grade.

Yay :D Your commentary of me is so much better than of yoshue`s. How does that feel, yoshue, huh! Terrible, I`m sure.

And I do give things a chance...eventually. Except Transformers. That film is immoral. Also:

No, the movie made me wish the filmmakers`mothers had aborted them.

Film Ranking: "Closeted" frat boy.

You're definetely someone who enjoys the run of the mill fun mindless popcorn stuff. You love the average joe comedy. You like all things that are likable, enjoy explosions (never said you love them) and therein lies the issue.

You love all this. yet a part of you can appreciate more. More than just that and its a side of you that seems less flamboyant and more closeted, lashed out only around people you can trust for if news leaks out that Da Torri fancies Finding Neverland, you'd be labelled forever as Mr. Pinky Face.

At least thats the impression I get from you.
Oh yea, and when the woman at the counter asks you for 10 bucks for the movie, you tell her 'thats beneath me. heres a 20'
