Post Re: Wednesday (9/19) Ratings
For all the hype and publicity it was receiving, that is not a good number for Gossip Girl at all. Sure, it did better than One Tree Hill did in the same timeslot, but the number for the premiere should have been higher given the awareness level.

Back to You did solid.

Back to You looks like an easy renewal, unless it croaks bad in the coming weeks. Kid Nation didn't bomb awfully, but there's no way they're getting a second season now.

That demo number is also pretty impressive for Kitchen Nightmares. Could hold its own in the coming weeks.

Yeah, Back to You did decent and Gossip Girls underperformed.

Deal or No Deal seems to have taken a real fall from its peak last fall.

Seems that Hell's Kitchen/Ramsay fans loved it. Fourth-place in viewers but number one in the demo is very good. That's what The Simpsons has been performing for the last 4-5 years. And Kitchen Nightmares is definitely cheaper to produce.

Post Re: Wednesday (9/19) Ratings
Deal or No Deal is a victim of too many game shows on primetime TV. 1 vs. 100, Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?, Power of 10, Set for Life. After a while, it's too many shows giving away big money. People grow tired of it. Just one or two shows like that a week are fine, but then the networks naturally capitalize on it and the genre fizzles out and goes back to daytime television and GSN for another five years, before another big game show emerges on a network.

Back to You did very well. I've only seen half the pilot so far, and it appeared decent. Kelsey Grammer is solid as always, and I liked Patricia Heaton, Ty Burrell and Fred Willard. The others were typical annoying sitcom characters, though. It has potential.

I saw Back to You and somewhat liked it. Hated the sweaty guy and the Latina weather girl stereotype.

Yes! Agree completely. That sweaty guy was just a typical exaggerated sitcom character. But other than that, it didn't seem that bad. It's no Frasier.

You mean it won't win five consecutive Emmy's for Best Comedy? I'm shocked. :)

Disappointing for Gossip Girl, but that would make it the third highest rated show on the network behind America's Top Model and Smallville.

GG did well for CW but could have done much better. Hope it has a solid run.

Solid for Back to You, but somewhat mediocre start for Kid Nation.

Acceptable but disappointing for Gossip Girl.

Did anyone catch Back to You? I missed it because of silly theatre commitments. Was it funny?

My Kelsey Grammer obsession knows no bounds.

It retained 71% of the ANTM audience.

I, too, had the feeling that Gossip Girl was going to be really big. Guess not.

Also thought Kid Nation would be bigger.

Back To You wasnt as bad as I thought it would be. As said, the sweaty guy and sterotypical mexican weather girl were bad but Kelsey and Patty have chemistry and they are pretty funny..
..I caught the episode of Till Death right after, I never gave the show a shot but it wasnt as bad as I've heard it was, pretty funny.

Gossip Girl fell 8.7% in the second half hour. I thought Gossip Girl would have done 5 million viewers, but its 3.65 million viewers still gives it the the highest rated series premiere ever on The CW.

I also thought GG will do much better... I feel sorry for CW (and before UPN) for not being able to launch a hit show after ANTM...

Back to You surprised me. I thought it would flop.

Numbers? I don't want to bother doing the math [(x + .913x)/2=3.65] but 8.7% sounds good, but that's when you are comparing it to a show that gets more than twice the viewers.

Kid Nation was awful. I gave up after just five minutes. If it got better and less embarrassingly lame, tell me, I Tivoed it and it's still thar to watch.
