Amazon hired the most credit-less head writers for their billion dollar LOTR investment imaginable, probably as cheap as it gets. Lol, good luck with those priorities. I'm sure the dragon scales that cost more than their whole salaries will be more important than writing

It shouldn’t be hard to write a LOtR series. Just follow the books.

It's a prequel (based on young Aragorn) so they don't have much book material to follow, plus it would still be the most important thing if they did, GOT's dialog is one of the biggest reasons for its success imo

Agree that Amazon's choice of writers is baffling for a show that has so much riding on it.

Netflix has canceled its chat shows with Joel McHale and Michelle Wolf.

As successful as they are in a variety of areas, from dramas to stand-up to documentaries, I don't believe people turn to Netflix for late-night-type programming. It is content which still feels more at home on regular television.

I just hope Netflix renews Insatiable. Highly enjoyed that. Binged the first season last weekend.

I guess I didn't see much of a difference between watching a late night show on HBO and one on Netflix.

Sad to see Joel go, again. And very irritated that Wolf is now gone too.

Netflix has renewed The End of the F***ing World for a second season.

It is tempting to say it should remain at one season because it plays out (and ends) so perfectly. But I love it, and I cannot help but be excited for another.

I am interested to see if they do. The critical reaction to it is savage beyond belief, and it has a toxic-waste-caliber reputation among the progressive Twitter set. But obviously we cannot see the viewing numbers and related metrics. So I am intrigued to see if it is "privately" successful enough for renewal despite its public failure.

My wife thought Insatiable was horrible. And she watches a LOT of crap.

I hate almost every Netflix original so out of morbid curiosity I started the pilot to see how bad "the bad Netflix show" could possibly be, and yea, it was a disaster

Big Bang Theory will end in 2019. Looks like Jim Parsons forced their hand

Everyone I know who watched it loved it. I feel like it would have enough of an audience to continue. I just don't know if the bad press will keep that from happening.

Its bad buzz is mainly for being called fat shaming since it's about a girl who gets her jaw broken and goes from fat high school loser to gorgeous after a liquid diet in the hospital, and is trying to be this satire where every character is shallow. For the writing was just extremely poor but I feel that way about a lot of other Netflix shows as well

Ah ok, thanks...so it's supposed to be funny, but actually its just not...but it seems Mike thinks so...I might check out the pilot to get an idea of it.

Rumors suggest Modern Family will be back for an 11th season. Terrible news. The show has sucked since Season 7, with only a few moments here and there that match its better days. I was hoping they would put some effort into a possible spinoff for Haley, probably the only character the show has tried to evolve, while still keeping her roots intact and actually funny (unlike Manny and Luke, who have remained in the same place character-wise, proving to be stale rather than funny).

This is pretty much official today. What a time to be alive. Nothing is ever cancelled any more. Except Happy Endings. That's never coming back...

If only Happy Endings could come back. Then my life could be complete. First Gilmore Girls, then Veronica Mars, and hell, Will & Grace. Now just bring back Happy Endings.

Don't know where else to report this, but Damon Wayans said he's leaving Lethal Weapon upon the completion of the 13 episode order for Season 3. If Riggs and Murtaugh are no longer on Lethal Weapon... is it Lethal Weapon?

Too bad, considering I assume he played a huge role in getting Clayne Crawford fired. Not condoing Crawford's alleged behavior if it's all true, but it sounds like Wayans has been unhappy for a while with the show.
