Both Joan of Arcadia and Judging Amy are gone. CBS has four new dramas and two comedies. The new dramas are: Threshold (Another scifi show, this one about a female leading a team investigating a UFO crash in the Atlantic. It's produced by Brannan Braga, and Brent Spiner is in it.) The Ghost Whisperer (Kinda like Medium, but without the crime. Stars Jennifer Love Hewitt as a young newly wed who talks to ghosts. This takes Joan's old time slot.) Criminal Minds (FBI crime fighters.) Close to Home (A young female prosecutor balances crime fighting and raising her suburban family.) The new comedies: How I Met Your Mother (Told as a flashback from the future, it stars Allyson Hannigan. This takes the Mon. 8:30 spot.) Out of Practice (About a family of doctors. This gets to follow 2 1/2 Men, which takes over Raymond's time slot on Mondays.) Here is the schedule: CBS TELEVISION NETWORK 2005-2006 PRIMETIME SCHEDULE (N=New; NT=New Time; all times ET/PT) MONDAY 8:00-8:30 PM THE KING OF QUEENS (NT) 8:30-9:00 PM HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER (N) 9:00-9:30 PM TWO AND A HALF MEN (NT) 9:30-10:00 PM OUT OF PRACTICE (N) 10:00-11:00 PM CSI: MIAMI TUESDAY 8:00-9:00 PM NCIS 9:00-10:00 PM THE AMAZING RACE 10:00-11:00 PM CLOSE TO HOME (N) WEDNESDAY 8:00-8:30 PM STILL STANDING (NT) 8:30-9:00 PM YES, DEAR (NT) 9:00-10:00 PM CRIMINAL MINDS (N) 10:00-11:00 PM CSI: NY THURSDAY 8:00-9:00 PM SURVIVOR: GUATEMALA 9:00-10:00 PM CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION 10:00-11:00 PM WITHOUT A TRACE FRIDAY 8:00-9:00 PM GHOST WHISPERER (N) 9:00-10:00 PM THRESHOLD (N) 10:00-11:00 PM NUMB3RS SATURDAY 8:00-9:00 PM CRIMETIME SATURDAY 9:00-10:00 PM CRIMETIME SATURDAY 10:00-11:00 PM 48 HOURS MYSTERY SUNDAY 7:00-8:00 PM 60 MINUTES 8:00-9:00 PM COLD CASE 9:00-11:00 PM CBS SUNDAY MOVIE For midseason, CBS has The Unit, a crime show starring Dennis Haysbert from 24, and Everything I Know About Men, starring Jenna Elfman. |

That's exactly what they have done. ](*,) Other then How I Met Your Mother, which I'll definetly check out, I'll be taking a pass on all of these. |

I must say I'm not really shocked at Joan's departure, nor Amy's departure. |

Joan a critically acclaimed show and it has a good following to, the ratings were great for a friday time slot and if Im not mistaken, it usually wins its time slot. It must be that the producer probably pissed off a CBS exec or that Love Lewitt must know someone real well at CBS to get her own show after she has had 3 pilots and shows that never got aired or canned |

Viewership sank below 9 million viewers, as opposed to the 12-13 it was getting in the first season. As good of a show it was, it was by far the lowest-rated show on CBS. It would've probably survived on any other network, but CBS has too many hits. |

So, it had to go. |

So CBS is going to be known as the CSI/Jerry Bruckheimer channel? Thats all it is right now with the exception of a few comedies |

![]() It's obvious that CBS is really trying to skew young. I just read in an article that Les Moonves, I believe, said, "We want to win it all," referring, of course, to the 18-49 demo that Fox has taken this year. :sigh: And like the article also said, if Judging Amy and Joan of Arcadia were on any other network, they'd probably be safe. Ugh. |

1 Good thing and 1 Bad thing. Good: Wed. @9pm is a new show that could fail, giving LOST easy #1 (and hopefully more viewers) Bad: They're keeping Survivor at Thur @8pm against ALIAS (even though that was a no brainer) Other than that I have nothig really to say cuz I don't watch any CBS shows. |

That's sad for Joan of Arcadia. I stopped watching it this season, but if it was moved to another night, it would've gotten better ratings. And I'm surprised about Judging Amy, as it seemed like CBS liked it. None of the new shows look that good on paper for any network, so I'll have to see trailers to judge. |

I actually think Ghost Whisperer will succeed on Fridays. The two (the show and the day) kind of go hand and hand, and I think it can atttract an audience. Plus, it's Jennifer Love Hewitt, so... you know. |

How I Met Your Mother seems like a show that would run out of ideas very quickly. It may do well though since it's kind of set up differently as it is all a flashback. |

It's kind of too bad JOAN OF ARCADIA was cancelled. I didn't really watch the second season other than the first couple of episodes, but I did like the first season, and I liked what I saw of the second too, I just ended up having other things going on when it was on and got too far behind so I planned on watching it in the summer when it would air reruns. It's a tad surprising they cancelled it, even if the ratings dipped this season. The WB should pick it up since 7th Heaven has been on forever and that religious themed show is their biggest hit. But I think it's really lame and cheesy and has overstayed its welcome, so sometime soon it's going to have to go, and I'm thinking this next season will be its last. They could add this to their schedule and maybe it could eventually take its place. Hell, they could have it air after it during the week. I'll probably check out THE GHOST WHISPERER and HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER for Alyson Hannigan. |

By the way, I've been hearing insiders attending the upfronts seem to agree that the Neil Patrick Harris-Alyson Hannigan sitcom How I Met Your Mother is the best new comedy of the season. Sounds great. There's actually quite a few shows I'd be interested to try out. CBS' Monday block looks great, between the two new comedies (Out of Practice sounds funny too) and the other two. I think Threshold (with the fabulous Carla Gugino) and Close to Home may also be good. Also, despite it starring (bleh) Jennifer Love Hewitt, I still plan on watching Ghost Whisperer. |
