Is anyone else re-watching this brilliant show or watching it for the first time in preparation for the movie? I've been watching Season 1 again with my parents. Reminds me why I was so in love with it in the first place. Kristen Bell is so great on this. The entire cast rocks. I love the relationship between Veronica and her father, and I adore Tina Majorino as Mac. Tons of famous faces turned up on this show, including Jessica Chastain, Aaron Paul, Amanda Seyfried, Kevin Smith, Paul Rudd, Adam Scott, and many more.

It's available to stream for free to Amazon Prime members. Check it out.

Veronica has made it to round 3 in the MTV Movie Brawl and they stick it against The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part I for the third round? That's not even fair. It doesn't have a prayer :(.

Vote Veronica fans!

Don't get me wrong, I'm super excited for The Hunger Games, but I'm voting for the underdog. I'd like to see it get far and get as much exposure as possible. Besides, I've been waiting years for this! :P

It's not on Netflix :(

Nope. Amazon Prime has exclusive rights to stream the show now. It was on Netflix once upon a time. This is the first it has been available through streaming from somewhere for free (besides having to have a membership that is) since the movie was announced.

I figured you'd just download it.

I remember burning through the entire first season of this show over a single weekend. Now that SOAP channel is dead I'm hoping somebody else will pick up the syndication. MTV should be the one, the show is ageless and it would be so easy to get their core audience hooked.

The new network Pivot bought the rights and is airing it in a block with "Buffy" and "Friday Night Lights."

It's too bad they don't release ratings info. Really curious how Veronica is doing.

Finished Season 1 with my parents tonight and the first two episodes of Season 2. This show never should have been canceled. It's so fucking awesome. :wub2:

It's cancellation is still a mystery. What else did the CW have going for it? It was averaging 2.5 million viewers, most of those in the 18-49 demo I'm guessing. Their biggest show today, Arrow, barely averages above that. It must have been people in the merger wanted to clean house of anything that wasn't "theirs".

This sums it up pretty well.

Quote:
In January 2007, Dawn Ostroff announced that while she was pleased with the gradual ratings improvement of Veronica Mars, the series would be put on hiatus after the February sweeps to air a new reality series, Pussycat Dolls Present. When the hiatus ended, the series returned for the last five episodes of the season with non-serialized plotlines.

PUSSYCAT DOLLS. I'm so glad we have tons of cable network programming now and don't have to put up with the unreasonable madness of networks ... that much.

You can't compare ratings back then to ratings now. But yes, cancelling VM was a rather bad decision looking back. They should've at least renew it for 13 episodes if not for full season. But Dawn wanted a network with shows of beautiful teen people doing luxurious stuff. It backfired on all accounts.

EDIT: It was #138/142 show in 2007. It shared that rank with CW's Girlfriends and beat only three more CW shows - All of Us, The Game and Runaway. All those were canceled. It wasn't a shocking decision to cancel it, but Dawn should've been more forward thinking. She believed way too much in her new shows and her track record shows 2-3 absolute bombs every season. She basically nurtured only one hit show since CW started - that's TVD. She could've used VM as a utility player. She decided not to. In hindsight it was a bad decision. But back then it made just as much sense to cancel the show and to renew it. I believe it was really close in the end. After all they did order a presentation for the 4th season.

It's AWESOME, just finished all three seasons, season 1 is the best overall but I liked season 2 the most. Season 3 is different but I really liked a number of episodes especially the last.

Dang, you finished all 3 seasons already!? I just finished the first, which was awwwwesome. The season finale, wow. So glad I didn't know any spoilers.
