Re: Game of Thrones:Season 3
So, will the Greyjoy brothers be in the next season? Since Balon should die soon, it makes sense that they would have the kingsmoot. I think both Victorian and Euron will be in the the show. Not sure about the third brother. I could see Victorian being a cool character on the show

Re: Game of Thrones:Season 3
Asha going off on her own complicates that a bit. Or maybe it makes it better now that she has to weigh rescuing her brother (a foolish task, lets be honest) and her own ambitions. I don't see how they leave Euron and Victarion considering how important they become later. The Priest I don't mind dropping, unless Martin also has big plans for him.

Re: Game of Thrones:Season 3
Alright about season 4 deaths Not so much with the baddies. Who is more tragic? Ygritte dying in Jon's arms Oberyn Martell getting emotional while trying to avenge his sister, niece and nephews death only due to his cockiness that he ends up getting killed during TBC. Berric Dondarrion losing part of his memory each time and suffering more pain each time he is resurrected and only to give his life up to pass his leadership to Lady Stoneheart.

Magnus wrote: they wont come until season 5 IMO. And the Kingsmoot won't be that big of a deal in the show. I think they will build up Balon's death and reveal that Euron had him killed. I would introduce them in season 4 since they have less than half a book left and they will be easy to introduce.

And how has that worked out for the other heroes? The show has made me believe that Dany will never sit the Iron Throne. I think the season should have ended on Melinsandre declaring the War of the Five Kings to be a giant waste of time. I think they really didn't give too much thought on making a climatic finale. They had a lot of possibilities without resorting to the epilogue of the book. Cold Hands could have been introduced as a finale. It doesn't even really require that extensive of FX and CGI for him. He has always reminded me of the Skull Knight from Berserk. How about even a shot of Dorn with a few boats sailing to King's Landing to signify that Oberyn Martell is arriving? They don't even have to show Oberyn either. Holy crap the Skull Knight (one of the coolest characters ever created!! I am definitely reading book 3 before the next season now!

FYI - many book fans wanted to see the Catelyn revival as Lady Stoneheart in Season 3's final episode (final scene) but it was too soon IMO. Worth waiting for next season.
You would have also have read about Joffrey's wedding, and Littlefinger and Lysa...and The Mountain vs The Red Viper and Stannis at the Wall, Jon etc .... so much happens after the Red Wedding in Book 3 - its totally nuts.

Re: Game of Thrones:Season 3
Eventually you have to finish book 4 to get to book 5 unless you want to wait another 2 years for the show to catch up to book 5. I think everyone agrees that book 4 is easily the worst because of the lack of the main players. Book 5 however is boggled down by the deteriorating Dany story. Greyjoy stuff is awesome in book 5 though

Re: Game of Thrones:Season 3
Book 4 and 5 should have been one book - take the best bits from both and you have a strong book. But yeah Book 4 is the weakest. Book 5 is a lot better - just bloated ie. Tyrion (skipped a couple of his latter chapter) and Dany chapters - though the last few Mereen chapters are awesome.

Re: Game of Thrones:Season 3
Hardly a new character to the book but Wylan Manderly is the bomb. Hes not in the show yet and was rarey provided in the previous books but he definately takes the stage in DWD
Brenden Gleeson would be perfect as him

Re: Game of Thrones:Season 3
IF what Korrgan told me is true (Book 4 and 5 happening at the same time) they should totally mix them up into two seasons.
I'm not gonna be able to watch a season without Dany, Tyrion AND Jon.... too much of a heartbreak not having those three.

Re: Game of Thrones:Season 3
It does, but most of the time it's the wrong characters. We could have easily gone without Brienne, Dorne and the Islands and just heard their tales through proxy, like in the rest of the books. Or at least through one new established POV character like Asha and Arienne, rather than bouncing around like a lesser novel. Though Dance did have a lot of that BS too (nobody cares about Quentin Martell) it had most of the fan-favorites to go along with it.

Re: Game of Thrones:Season 3
As I said earlier in this thread the 1.5 seasons they will spend on books 4 and 5 on tv should actually improve on the books.
The Tyrion chapters in Dance were terrible apart from when a certain character was introduced (and definitely not the female one). Dany chapters were also bad apart from the last few (pit onwards) and the Mereen chapters from other POVs at the end of the book were awesome.

Re: Game of Thrones:Season 3
I don't know why people found the Brienne chapters boring She encounters the Brave Companions once again and they are very weird enough characters to make it very interesting. Its also quite well invested because of what those guys did to her and Jaime but since the show botched that arc they will find a way to revise it probably by having Captain Locke as part of that group

By the way Magnus, I'm depending on you to keep the thread page up in this thread. I can't believe a thread about "Big Brother" is catching up to the replies here.

Re: Game of Thrones:Season 3
Woah, the book took a drastic turn for the better I cannot believe how much I like Sansa now while Arya has gone to shit. I feel Sansa will be a strong player in the next books beacuse she has learned a lot during the last few chapters.
One last thing, why a i suddenly liking Cersei?, she has become the most powerful human being in the kingdom and while she's still a cunt, Margaery is an even bigger one and i want her death. GO CERSEI.

I would say Victorian Greyjoy is a great new character I also loved Arya's chapters in FOC. I love seeing her becoming a badass.

I went to a casting call for extras today. This September they're gonna film GOT in my town too, not only in Dubrovnik. I so fucking hope I'll get some kind of a role.
