Anybody watching? I've decided to download every episode this year. It's actually just 1 hour without the commercials so it's a brisk package

I've been really really impressed by the 1st two episodes. They had two great hosts (Seth MacFarlane and Joseph Gordon-Levitt) so that helps but I also think they've done some good things skits wise.

Breakout star so far is Kate McKinnon, already the best female castmember IMO. Her Ann Romney KILLED.

Seth MacFarlane episode was really good but the Joseph Gordon-Levitt one had terrible writing and mostly unfunny sketches.

Although it did have JGL stripping so that was OK.

The Ann Romney thing was AMAZING and reminded me of something Kristen Wiig or Amy Poehler might do. I could see Kate McKinnon being a worthy replacement for Wiig.

Only watched the Seth episode, but it was surprisingly good, pre-Update (as per usual). Bill Hader is the cast MVP.

I could watch that all day.

I lost it during the Tres Equis commercial when JGL "gives a negative tip and calls it cash back"

Most of the Tres Equis spots were good. And the hypnotist was really funny.

Kate McKinnon is making a serious play to be the show's next breakout star, isn't she? Girl dominated last night's episode.

I also laughed at Fred Armisen's "Regine" skit in spite of myself.

Opening presidential debate skit was good
I like Bruno's opening.
Would like him to do something about his hair.
Maybe I need to watch the original Pitt perfume to get that one.

The monologue was great. The Lincoln sketch was great. And I really liked the last sketch. But I was happy to see someone like CK to actually get this kind of gig.

Can we talk about that horrible Rihanna performance of "Diamonds" last night. I mean what was she trying to accomplish with the green screen there? For one that background looked almost straight out of MS Paint. Almost Ashlee Simpson bad.

It's Rihanna wtf where you expecting?

A good performance? lol.

No but I also wasn't expecting that...

The Homeland skit was absolutely hilarious, although I imagine only people who watch the show thought it was funny.

Also, Mokiki and the sloppy swish.

Those were both HYSTERICAL, plus Anne's opening.

Yeah, I was watching it with a friend who doesn't watch Homeland and they didn't really laugh. I, however, was dying! :funny: It was hilarious. If you don't watch the show it won't make any sense.

I hate that Rhianna can't get away from Brown but I appreciate her as a performer. She did great.

Anne Hathaway was fantastic, superb. Proving once again why they keep having her back. Her Katie Holmes and Claire Danes were excellent. I loved beginning of the show with the cast singing. The guy who does Obama is insane as well. I even liked that weird sketch of the guy doing that dance.

I never get tired of The Californians skit.

On the other hand, I found it baffling that they didn't choose to parody The Avengers, but rather did an exact copy of the real movie.

Last night's Xmas episode was great - - reminded me of the glory days of SNL - - though Paul McCartney was underwhelming and I didn't think their funereal opener was a good choice.

On the contrary, I was very moved by the cold open last night.

Most, if not all, agree with Libs. Very well done.

JLaw's opening monologue should be mandatory viewing for all Oscar followers. lol

The writing of this episode is leaving a lot to be desired, though.
