 Re: Survivor: One World
Haterzzz
I still think if Kim were a dude, most people wouldn't hesitate to talk about how good her gameplay is up to this point. Women never get any credit on this show, from Jeff Probst, from the actual players in the game, from fans of the show. Parvati is really the only example I can think of of a female player who got the credit she deserved. Even Cirie's performance in Fans vs. Favorites was downplayed by people here.

I don't care if Kim is a woman or a dude. She's just lucky she's with the dumbest crop of players ever. If she was a he my opinion would be the same.

 Re: Survivor: One World
I can't speak for everyone, but it's not a man/woman thing. I don't give any credit for gameplay to Jay or Troy either. Jay was a horrible player, to be blunt. He was too trusting in a game that, season-after-season, is cutthroat. And he was too paranoid and far too aggressive in pushing certain people one way.
And I don't like Troy. Winning a few challenges doesn't make him a great player. Having the idol doesn't make him a great player. Playing the idol when you only get two votes certainly doesn't make him a great player.
And to be fair to both sexes, I don't think there are as many great players as people think. There are many "great" players who were just lucky. And I'll go one further and say it's subjective: Libs isn't necessarily wrong. My criteria for a great player will differ from others.
I'm not even sure what my point is now. Alls I know is that this season has been primarily about luck and numbers, little else.

 Re: Survivor: One World
Also Libs, most of the best players on Big Brother have been women: Janelle, Britney, Daniele Donato (post-BB8, pre-when-things-didn't-go-her-way-on-BB13), Danielle (Season 3), even Rachel.
Not sure what that has to do with Survivor, but I'm not at all the type to say men are better players than women. I rooted for the women this season all the way through. But I'd be lying if I picked out one woman on the show that has stood out as a great player or mastermind.

 Re: Survivor: One World
Troy had me conflicted this episode. I generally like him, although his outbursts in this episode were a bit much. At the same time, while Kim is definitely my favorite and I'm rooting for her to keep maintaining control, I had kind of hoped Troy would be able to shake things up a little bit. Christina, Alicia and Tarzan choosing not to flip in this scenario was foolish.
I'm convinced Sabrina is the only one left in this game who has the brains to do what would need to be done to win (i.e. take out Kim) but I'm not sure she'd actually do it.

If Kat was going to win, she would've been getting a more forceful edit so far.

That's not the case with Kat, at least from what we've been shown.

I don't think he's really a misogynist, his comment about women "taking over the house" or whatever the hell he was saying seemed like the ramblings of someone who went through a bad divorce or something at some point.

 Re: Survivor: One World
Oh absolutely.
Too bad though. I mean, he is a good player. A definite candidate for any future all-star seasons.
Lots of good players left too. No standouts, though. This was the first time that I felt Tarzan has a serious shot at Final Three, a la Phillip. If they manage to oust Troy this week, Tarzan will survive the women turning on each other.
Then he has a chance at winning... good lord. Though I think his talk to Troy in front of everyone was classy.

There will never be a stranger image in Survivor than that of Tarzan holding Leif's head and cleaning him like a baby kitten.

 Re: Survivor: One World
Well, Troy certainly gave it a shot, even if he came up short. As I said, I generally liked him, his kind of ridiculous behavior in the previous episode excepted. I'll miss his (kinda hot for a 50 year old dude) self, I guess.
I think Kim made her first notable error of the season in selecting Chelsea over Kat after the coconut chop challenge (so glad they brought that back, btw). Doesn't seem to have mattered, though...I feel like Kat is the kind of girl who gets angry about something and then forgets what she was mad about in, like, 15 minutes. Chelsea also seems to be insecure and basically a follower as well, though, so she might've reacted the same way as Kat.
Awful Alicia's cruel treatment of Christina reared its ugly head again in this episode. I keep wanting to root for Christina, but her nonexistent strategy and passivity makes it basically impossible.
Last week, I posted that Sabrina was the only one capable enough to try to knock out Kim. Now...I'm not so sure, after the kind of dumb stunt she pulled telling Christina about the vote.
And...Tarzan as the last man standing. Not sure anyone saw that coming.

That has to be one of the dumbest moves in Survivor history. I'm pulling for a Kim win.

 Re: Survivor: One World
Yeah unless the editors have been pulling a fast one on us, I just don't see a scenario where Kim doesn't win. She has been the dominant player of the season, like no one else even comes close (even if you don't agree with me that she's "brilliant," you at least must give her this). It kind of seems like Fireman Tom (Palau) or Yul (Cook Islands) all over again.
