 Re: Survivor: One World
Mister Ecks wrote: I kind of got the feeling watching Troyzan's creepy-dude stare and Kat's emotional breakdown upon getting booted that they'll hold a grudge in the final tribal. It's just the world of being a Bitter Betty. Kim's understated "mastermind" game (no better way to describe it) may end up costing her.
Then there's the whole "have to boot three more" thing. She can't take Alicia, Sabrina and Chelsea to the finals. Any or all that do get booted will be pissed because like Kat, they all think they're on the inside.
I'm just having my doubts. Her only course to victory, for me, is Christina and Alicia: one has been a non-player for weeks, maybe since she arrived, merely surviving by another player's sickness; the other having such a high value of self-worth, it's funny. If she's next to Chelsea, Sabrina or especially Tarzan, things won't be so guaranteed. Chelsea played a good physical game, perhaps played a great social game, played a good strategic game. Sabrina seems to be a really likable person. And Tarzan is the late 60s dude that survived the men and maybe the women. I think Chelsea is going to make it to the final tribal council but Kim will beat her no matter what. I feel like Chelsea is going to be viewed as the weak-willed coattail rider in the scenario. Which, from what we've been shown, is essentially accurate. Also, if these women have any brains they'll get Tarzan out before the finals, simply due to his status as a dude on a jury nearly filled with them. Alicia and Christina are the obvious goats. My personal prediction is that the final three is most likely to be Kim, Chelsea and Alicia. But we'll see.

I'm also nervous that somehow Alicia would pull off a victory there. That's not possible, is it? I don't think I can stomach that. Also, I find it funny in retrospect that Kat "just wanted to have fun" when she picked Kim and Alicia... is it possible to have fun with Alicia?
Tarzan would have so many votes sewn up right now, just for being the old dude that survived 39 days.

The girls are definitely overlooking his potential as he's trying to act as stupid and gross as he can around them..... or is he??
Somewhat sad to see Kat go since she was fairly interesting and had some classic lines.

Chelsea is like Natalie. Kim is like Russell.
Interesting that libs thinks that Chelsea is a coat tail ruder but Natalie was strategic and deserved to win

 Re: Survivor: One World
To me, a coat tail rider = a floater (from BB), basically. I mean I know Chelsea hasn't made big moves like a Boston Rob, but she's still a good player. A coat tail rider is Alicia. She aligned with the right people and thinks she's the leader.
But I don't blame someone for having a different definition of a coat tail rider.

 Re: Survivor: One World
And then there were five women. Pretty entertaining episode overall: I'll give Tarzan for making an effort (in his own bizarre way) to remain in the game, although it became clear fairly soon into tribal council he'd be getting booted. Looks like we won't have a repeat of Vanuatu when the one dude left beat out like six women.
Alicia trumping herself up and declaring herself the game's #1 power player was pretty rich. I sort of hope she makes it to the final tribal council to witness the fallout.
The game's actual #1 power player, Kim, continued to prove that last night. I'm not sure how she has done what she's doing, but her status as The Most Clearly Dominant Person All Season Long That Has Never Changed has yet to be usurped in any way. The remaining women all seem so eager to be friends with and/or aligned with her in some capacity that they barely even broach the possibility of voting her out, which should've been the clear option last night when she didn't win immunity. It's seriously some Boston Rob in Redemption Island-level stuff.
The funniest moments may have been Kat's bittercakes on the jury. I especially enjoyed the (must have been edited) moment where she appeared to shed a tear after it came to light Tarzan had worn her panties on his head. Lord.

 Re: Survivor: One World
I don't understand. Is Kim's influence that heavy that no one can see how easily she will beat them all at the end? Seriously? Like no one is talking about how she's playing them all.
Alicia is a moron anyway. Good luck getting 0 votes.
Christina is desperate and pathetic. How she is there is beyond me.
Sabrina and Chelsea, though, I don't get it. They have love in their eyes for Kim. They will never beat her in the end.
If it's Kim's influence, I will admit she is a better player than I gave her credit for. Happily will admit it. Just don't get why otherwise-intelligent women are handing her the money.

I feel like it's the same thing that happened in Redemption Island with Boston Rob. The women's adoration for Kim on a personal level seems to blind them to realizing just how dangerous she is as a competitor and they just go along with whatever she wants. It's also why she keeps getting picked to go on these reward challenges.

Kim's last two decisions will seem so idiotic if Chelsea wins.

 Re: Survivor: One World
And there you have it, Kim well-deservingly wins the game. As much as I really liked Sabrina and basically liked Chelsea, Kim absolutely deserved this. I found her game comparable to people like Boston Rob and Fireman Tom. Not only was she an immunity monster, but her social game was fabulous. And she did it all with grace and never seemed like an asshole, which I know at least I appreciate.
And who woulda thunk that, of all the jury members, Kat would have the most graceful and lovely jury statement? Unexpected. Actually, the jury was refreshingly free of angry spite and bitter for once.

And Jonathan Penner! Love that man, one of my favorite people on this show ever. Thinking about it more, I'm so happy with how this season turned out. I know seeing one individual dominate the entire game essentially from start to finish isn't really super riveting from a dramatic TV standpoint, but Kim's victory really spoke to what a mannered and effective game she played. The closest comparison to her has actually gotta be Yul from Cook Islands...they're very similar in many ways. I hope if they do another All-Stars season, she's asked to participate again. And having the rest of the final three be filled with people who were actually cool like Sabrina and Chelsea, and not undeserving goats, was a nice touch. Also, I can't believe how impressed I was with Kat. Where did that come from? It's like she suddenly matured completely overnight.

I like Jonathan but he's been on the show twice, so it's not really a second chance.
I don't remember Russell. Was he the dude that passed out in the middle of the ball maze challenge?
