Is anyone going to watch this tonight? I am, if only for Amber Heard. |

This is probably one of my most anticipated shows this season, if only for Laura Benanti. I love her, she is one of the sweetest, nicest people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. Can't wait for tonight! |

The pilot is alright. Very forgettable though and it definitely comes off as a "Mad Men" ripoff. Maybe it will gain traction as some interesting storylines are set up, but I don't see this clicking with audiences overall. |

I don't think it will last either. Maybe had it been on cable, but it won't do well on network television. |

It was decent. But nothing more. It was DOA as far as the ratings go though. The Playboy Club (Series Premiere) 1.6/4 (demo) 5.01 (million viewers) |

I knew it would flop. Those are horrible numbers. It could be gone by sweeps. |

Eh. It's NBC. I think they will stick it out until mid-season. |

This type of show should only be on cable. |

Period shows just don't last on Network TV. Pan Am will be another one. I want to see it but the ads have sucked and I can't see many being interested in it. It has a decent lead-in so that might keep it around a while though if it can retain most of the Housewives audience. Without that it would be DOA. Still could be. |

I'm halfway through the pilot and finding it difficult to finish it. Does Eddie Cibrian realize he is not Jon Hamm? Like, if Jon Hamm is major league, Eddie Cibrian is a 4-year-old boy with a catcher's mitt and a dream. And the content necessitates that it air on an HBO or Showtime. The bunnies are hot, but that's about it. And the opening minutes "twist" should've came at the end of the episode. I didn't really care that Bunny Amber Heard killed a dude. Mad Men looks and feels authentic. You believe you're in the 1960s. The Playboy Club is done with minimal authenticity and even less heart or soul. That said, with stronger writing and minus Eddie Cibrian, this could be a diamond in the rough. As is, it's fool's gold: cheap imitation. |
