I like Modern Family, but the ridiculous amount of love it garners is mind-boggling. Ron Fucking Swanson not even nominated? Fuck you. |

Melissa McCarthy definitely won for Bridesmaids instead of Mike & Molly. |

OK, celebrities. Stop telling your kids to go to bed. It's not cute, funny or original. In essence, it ruins your already overlong speech. Signed, Everyone Who's Watched An Awards Show |

I think there was a voter backlash against Mad Men. |

Modern Family totally deserved it. Season 2 was a big improvement from a great Season 1. |

Oh, and of course Mad Men won. It's still the best show on TV, after all. |

PETER DINKLAGE!!!!!! Fantastic - some love for Game of Thrones which bodes well for future seasons. And as always great to see Mad Men win again! |

Mister Ecks wrote: Oh, and fuck Jim Parsons. Your show sucks. Well, I'll meet ya 1/2 way on this: YES, It sucks flat out that they gave Parson's the Emmy over Steve Carrell which seemed sort of disrespectful in itself.. Carrell put in 7 damn good seasons of The OFFICE(even if his final episode redeemed a lackluster season 7) and without him, the OFFICE will die after season 8, plain and simple.. I don't see James Spader carrying the torch over Carrell and even Spader knows this and so does the cast probably.. But NO, I still enjoy The BIG BANG THEORY and sort of surprised Parson's is like that in real life.. |

It is pretty damn stupid that Carrell never won an Emmy for Michael Scott. A little bullshit. |

Considering he's been beaten twice by Jim Parsons, I'd say it's more than a little bullshit. Am I to understand that Mad Men won zero Emmys outside of Best Drama? Is that a record? Has a show ever lost everything except the big one? |

Including technicals it won 2 Emmys from 18 noms. Love the wins for Margulies and Dinklage. Others are fine I guess. No big WTF moments at least. |

They were really spreading the love for the dramas all around. Im kind of surprised all the technical awards went to Boardwalk Empire instead of Game of Thrones. Otherwise, it was quite a predictable emmy race for the drama category other than surprises like FNL winning best writing and actor. I would of thought Jon Hamm and Mad Men taking those two. Im wondering if Dinklage would be submitted as lead actor next year since the 2nd book was more Tryion focused and HBO would strategize it next year to make room for possible supporting submissions for Aiden Gillian and Stephen Dillane. After all Dillane did get nominated before for his work in a HBO miniseries The lack of Mad Men sweeping the awards makes it pretty vulnerable next year where I can see Breaking Bad winning best drama |

Outside of Parsons, I was fairly content with the winners last night. I'm not familiar with FNL, GoT, or The Good Wife, but lots of good wins all around. I'm growing a tad tiresome of TDS's strangehold on Variety. |

Oh, and the red carpet pre-show on FOX was embarrassing. I especially felt bad for Tim Olyphant. Dude got zero respect in his interview. "You're a part of a few good shows, so why aren't you winning some awards?" Steve Buscemi was delightfully cranky. Or funny. Or both. |

If only Justified was nominated for best drama in place of Dexter, it would make it the first emmy's where each show contender has won an award in one of the major categories |

Carrell deserved it big time. A lot of years I agreed with him and Larry David loosing is just absurd. What's funny is how similar the characters they play are. They push the envelope and put the audience and characters in many awkward situations and have much more dislikes about them. Emmys mean shit though, Carrell at least won a Golden Globe. Still can't believe Parsons beat Tom Jane last year in that. |
