Post Life on Mars - US version
A new promo, after they got rid of David Kelly as showrunner and changed the location to NY and got better supporting actors.

Not bad, looks like it has a chance of working. Starts October 9th.

It's getting really good reviews. Currently the best so far for a new network show.

I wasn't planning on checking it out, but because of the good reviews I'll DVR it and see what I think. Hopefully it surprises me.

The british show was awesome and its spin-off Ashes to Ashes was even better because of its 80s setting

The like the show but in comparison with the BBC version, the brits own it hands down because the cops were more ugly and thuggish. Thats where the charm comes from

Its not up the UK versions standard but it was much better then I expected. Gretchen Mol does not work however.

I saw British version of the pilot and the American back to back. The Brit one is kick ass. he American is good, but they cut down a lot of story - especially the nice twist with the hypnotherapist at the end. And the change with the main case was stupid. The twin copycat?!?!?! WTF? Like a bad procedural episode.

The best way I can describe it is like a Life on Mars happy meal. You're getting the same basic thing, just cut down and simplified for kiddies, or - in this case - American audiences.

One thing I liked about the British version is that he's actually quite embarrassed and confused by what's going on. He doesn't go around announcing he's from the future every chance he gets because he's scared they might try sectioning him. In this one, he practically yells it at the top of his lungs every chance he gets. Just doesn't ring true to me for some reason.
