Since "Freinds" flatlined, ive been looking for a sitcom to fill the void.

And i discovered "8 Simple Rules" over on ABC1 [The UK cabsat branch of ABC] and i LOVE this show, its totally hillarious.

The episodes im watching are the John Ritter ones - but i find Bridgette to be the funniest character.

I laughed so hard when Carey imitated Bridgette - with the head bobbing :D

Seriously, great show - im hooked :D

Yep, I love 8 Simple Rules.

Although that whole TGIF block on ABC is not doing too hot in the ratings, I watch every show on it now (Rules, Hope & Faith, Less Than Perfect, etc).

Its too bad they dont show more ABC shows over on ABC1, we get all the oldies, like "Mad About You", "Daddio" "Ellen" and "Sports Night" as well as newer shows like "General Hospital" and "Once and Again"

But my favourite from a generally crumby [but fun to watch] lineup is of course "8 Simple Rules"

:D Bridgettes very very funny :D

Yes, Bridgette is surprisingly funny. You would think that kind of character would just be some dumb character to make some idiotic lines here and there, but she really is pretty good. I haven't seen the show in a while, but what I saw of the post-Ritter episodes were all still very good and funny. David Spade and James Garner are great.

You get Sports Night and Daddio?! Daddio only lasted like 13 episodes, and Sports Night lasted two seasons.

I watched it when I was home when Ritter was alive and I thought the show was a good show.

And I am glad to hear the show is still doing well as I don't watch anymore. I agrued that continuing the show after Ritter's death would work as the show centered around Ritter, as the other characters were the ones that made the show go. If seems that with Garner and Spade, they found some to continue the trend.

This will be a fun show when it goes into syndication and then you get to see all of the shows nightly.

Well its nightly in the UK right now anyway. I dont like David Spade at all, but i think that this show is strong enough to over-come bad casting.

If you are only watching the Ritter shows then you have no idea what the later shows are like. They change in tone without Ritter. All characters.

Well ABC1 are starting Hope & Faith soon, and they are planning to move into Primetime in around 11 months whilst rolling out to other digital formats over the next few months.

So im hyped, its my favourite channel :D

Oh sweet god i just saw the Paul Ritter episode where he passed away and i cried from beginning to end; was one of the saddest things ive ever seen. Totally tragic; and my worst nightmare would be to argue with my parent and then not have the chance to say sorry.

Thank god "Less than Perfect" is cheering me up.

They next couple episodes will be dramatic in tone, rather than comedy. I remember one of the episodes after John Ritter's death had no studio audience. I believe it was the one you watched.
