Apparently, a direct to DVD movie wrapped just before Comic Con. Rube is not in it and they replaced the actress who played Daisy. And I see no indication that Bryan Fuller is involved. Bottom line? Cautiously

Basically what happened with Gayheart was that in real life she was involved in some accident where a kid was killed (I'm not 100% sure what, but some kind of car accident) and the execs of the network found the whole situation uncomfortable and didn't know how to advertise Gayheart playing a reaper in a show about death with her whole reality of having run over a kid, so they dropped her.

It's pretty lame. I for one don't think that viewers would have/did have any issue with Gayheart. I didn't even know about her whole incident until I read up on why she was fired from Dead Like Me.

As for the Dead Like Me movie, I don't care very much/at all about Rube not being there (not a big Patinkin fan) but I don't like the recasting of Daisy.
