Reading over the details, Lost increased every half-hour, more so around 10 when Idol is gone. Do people just want answers that they skip some good stuff beforehand?

Those are the biggest numbers for Lost since the first episode back in February, which got about 14.5 million. Everything else since has been below 13 million. Awesome.

BTW Christian, as much as I love being in a siggie, that quote is a reference to 30 Rock.

Great increase for Lost now if it goes back to a better time spot in Feburary maybe they can keep it at this level.

Ya, it's a good number for Lost and maybe the actuals will have ti a tad closer to 14 million.

IF next season it maintains around 14-15 million, I will be very happy with that. I think it would be great.

Decent number for Lost...Hopefully with the better timeslot and renewed interest with the DVD, it'll rise up.

as long as season 4 doesnt start out like the first 6 of season 3 the show should not fall below 13.5m next year.

With no big hiatus next year Lost should stay relatively constant throughout the year. The only problem is starting big in February. There's gonna have to be a helluva lot of advertising.

Great for Lost. They sure rebounded back after hitting a season low during midseason and even the quality of writing is excellent again in par of season 1. If only they improved on it earlier this season

36.4 m

Idol lost 7 million from last year. Its odd that the beginning episodes were by far where the show peaked. What happened to TV from February-March. People just stopped watching in droves, a number of shows...

I kinda agree. Some of the previous years publicity stunts just didn't cut it this year (they always have some bizarre thing come up around the premiere, the top 12 or 10, and the finale). First for the premiere there was "fighting" between Ryan/Paula. Then the top 12 was Antonella (probably not staged though), and then right around the finale Paula breaking her nose by avoiding falling on her dog. 1 thing on its own is expected, but these things always pop up at the most predictable times...

"Wednesday's 'Idol' finale dropped 22% in adults 18-49 (11.1 rating/30 share) compared to last year's 14.2/35 and down 19% to 29.5 million compared to last year's 36.4 million, according to preliminary data released Thursday by Nielsen Media Research. It was the lowest 18-49 numbers since its original cycle in 2002 and the lowest viewership since the third season. It's likely to increase in the ratings with the final numbers released later today since the 10 p.m. to 10:09 p.m. portion where "Idol" picked its winner wasn't included in the ratings."

That's BAD. 18-49 the lowest since season 1???

Although I think that idol was lackluster this year it still has MASSIVE ratings. Fox execs shouldn't be to worried.
