I watched a couple episodes over the years and just hasnt been impressed by it.
You should try sitting down and watching season 1 from start to finish. You'd be surprised how much you like it.

House is actually intriguing and well-written, so I'm not sure it qualifies.

One could say the same about you and Veronica Mars. I know you said you watched it a few times. But it's not like you couldn't lie. I mean, if you don't like a show, why watch it "a few times"? I know that before I saw VM (I watched it after the first season), I thought it was just a typical teen show. But then I watched it, and it really isn't. It can be, but it's not what you expect it to be.
That's not to say you didn't watch it and actually hate it. That's fine, too. We're all entitled to our opinions, and I do not need to be the one to say it.

the procedural format/show will never actually "die out"
I just never see it happening. And I don't know why it would. It's not like people are having more leisure time to watch serialized shows.

Yeah, I watch it every week. It's a procedural in that there's a case every week, it shows the procedure they go through to solve said case, and it follows a format not unlike CSI and Criminal Minds.

You'd have loved last night's Criminal Minds I'm sure
It concerned a killer that traps people in an abandoned slaughterhouse and saws body parts off while they scream in agony. It really resembled the movie Hostel actually. I'm surprised it got past the censors as it was an incredibly violent episode in which the killer is shown throwing a victim's discarded head in the furnace and the camera zooms in on the head while it's burning.

Veronica Mars really needs to go, along with a bunch of other shows for The CW to ever have a chance. It should have debuted with all new programming in the first place.

CW seems to have some trouble in the new development department. They had 7 drama pilots this season, and it looks like they are only picking up 3, though one has been put on hold for midseason. That one sounds likely, as well. They had 5 comedy pilots, and they all sound like they failed. I assume they will pick one up and that's all.

Maybe it would be best just to close down The CW altogether and give the channel to local affiliates all day.

Wow god, I'm so thrilled to hear that such ghoulish ridiculous-ness is considered "quality television" by some people.
