Wow, Heroes goes down even more?

It appears the shelf life for these shows is quickly dwindling.

Wow, that's really pathetic for New Adventure of Old Christine's finale.

Gah, what the hell is happening to Heroes? The hiatus really did seem to kill it. At least with 24 the ratings lull's understandable (rubbish season), but with Heroes, I just can't understand why it's freefalling so badly.

NBC should really think about doing what 24 does with Heroes. True it will compete with 24 for 24 Episodes and such but there would be no hiatis.

They are up against the King of Queens lately when they used to be up against the new and not so great Old Christine. King of Queens is both in it's last few episodes of it's entire run and also gaining new fans as it is now syndicated widely including on the popular TBS channel. Also, people tune in to Heroes for escapism and NY blowing up isn't escapism but I don't think that's the main factor.

NBC in general is falling even lower than they were before. Heroes, SVU, DOND, less people watching the channel means less people seeing the ads and knowing Heroes came back.

I think with dvds it'll rebound by next year, but still, I can't believe how fucking impatient people are. All serialized shows are going to have to start going rerun-less.

IMO going rerunless was part of the problem with the hiatus. If they'd shown a couple of reruns they'd have kept awareness up.

NBC is being slaughtered. That's yet again another season low for both Deal or No Deal and Heroes.

And ouch for Christine finale! Wasn't it pulling in 5 million more viewers than that on a regular basis? DWTS really took a toll on Monday nights.

DOND got under 9 mil on Sunday... unless you mean season low for this night.

Not to sound like a broken record but for futures sake canning Christine in favour of The Class would be a wise move for CBS. It's clear to see that Old Christine relied heavily on airing after 2.5 Men or whatever, and it just doesn't have any originality or hook of its own to survive as a staple show. None of these sitcoms are doing very well so you might as well side with the shows that have potential to grow, aka HIMYM and TC.

Maybe Heroes is down because the show has grown tiresome?

I didn't see the latest episode yet, but I can't see how that can be to blame. I think the show is as solid as ever. The ratings were down since the return on the 23rd of April, so. I think the hiatus is a better explanation.

I know I stopped watching because the show became boring.

With the state of NBC right now, they will be airing the show even if its average drops below the network average because 1)they probably won't be able to do better and 2)like Lost, Heroes is probably the show on NBC that brings in the most profits outside of the tube (website hits for streaming video, iTunes downloads, merchandise, future dvd sales).

NBC would be wise to follow in Lost's footsteps and declare an end date for Heroes. The problem with Heroes is I doubt the writers have a specific end-game though up.

the problem is how big of a cast it has. Lost was pullin 18m last year, it can afford all the cast.

Havent checked this in a while, but can't believe King of Queens is still doing very well, it was a pretty good show, this is the last season right?

Yep. I think there are only a couple of episodes left.

I have to agree. The last couple of episodes before the hiatus and the last two have just been boring. And I definetly think the hiatus had an significant impact on the ratings and Queens has certainly put a dent into it as well.
