At least it's down from last week.

And Marc, please shut up about 30 Rock. I wonder how many episodes of it he has even seen.

I've said this before, but Grey's Anatomy really sucks with reruns. Holy. I can't believe how far it falls from regular new show ratings.

Peace,
Mike.

I think 5th Grader being a piece of crap show is starting to catch up with it... Zillions of people can tune into your premeire due to Idol and advertising, but if you don't deliver enough hook in it to keep viewers coming back, it won't go anywhere.

This has got to be the lowest ever for a new Survivor episode.

Like most FOX shows (maybe all, at least for the past few years) that start off very strongly, I'm sure 5th Grader will deteriorate minus Idol. It'll likely be enough for a summer run, which will likely be moderately successful, but a place on the fall schedule will probably kill it off.

In other words: it'll be gone eight months. Probably no sooner.

I think ABC should seriously start considering a primetime schedule much like what they planned with Lost/Daybreak.

By nature, ABC seems to only greenlight serialized shows with long-term prospects and development that require alot of investment. While personally, those are practically the only shows I watch, I think ABC should really try harder to find more stand-alone/procedural shows.

Well, given that the bulk of their programmin is serialized, it makes perfect sense that they perform the worst, as a network overall, in repeats of shows. So, they should really start considering a pattern like they initially imagined for Lost and Daybreak, airing nothing but original programming for that time on Wednesday. Of course, in that case it worked horribly.

Personally, I think NBC's strategy for Heroes is the best programming for a serialized show that I've picked up on.
they aired 11 consecutive episodes building up an insane amount of momentum and loyalty for a brand new show. They went on a 6-7 week hiatus which coincided with the hiatus for most shows during the holiday break. they returned with 7 consecutive episodes. Go for another 6-7 week break and then finish off the rest of the season. This may have worked best for Heroes and maybe not as well for other shows because frankly, Heroes gives its viewers what it wants is almsot non-stop action and reveal. but, it's still the format I've liked best.

Now, I'm not saying Grey's Anatomy is doing so bad in the repeats that they should put a new show on instead of repeats. Most Grey's Anatomy repeats perform better than 75% of the rest of ABC's programming. But, with shows like Housewives, Betty, Brothers and Sisters, along with Anatomy dropping off hefty %'s with repeats, it's killing the potential of the network.

If it weren't for repeats Grey's and Housewives would be the #1 and #2 scripted shows season to date. (Well, if you take out CSI's repeats as well, Housewives would drop to #3 but housewives is now not likely to be even in the top 4).

I really wonder whether Dancing with the stars will retain the numbers it was getting in the fall. If it does, then that's one of the few things ABC has done right this season.

Boring aside from Idol and 5th Grader. I hate repeats.
