You know, as great as House's numbers are without Idol, I think the number for Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader sort of invalidates the numbers they've been getting post-Idol. It shows that no matter what you put on after would get that. |

That is quite impressive for Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader. It will be interesting to see how it performs tonight to see if it can keep getting these monsterous ratings. |

The thing about this show is that it appeals to the inner idiot that resides at the center of most AI viewers (Sorry, but you know it's true). They watch and consider themselves smarter because the contestant that went to a fancy college couldn't answer a 3rd grade question. Sad, but true. |

Its not as though their audience is smart and can answer any of the questions.Probably their mentality is that its always fun to watch a random fight or car chase scene or see someone get humilated on tv. |

Um... What is wrong with people? God. Also, what's with SVU? The show has suddenly sprung a leak for no reason, the quality is as good as ever and there's almost no competition in the hour. |

Well, Thursday is 5th Grader's normal timeslot, right? Once Idol is gone on Thursdays, it will all be over. I hope. |

That's huge for Are You Smarter... It did better than Unanimous did in its premiere after Idol. Jeff Foxworthy is the man ![]() In truth, I prefer Are You Smarter to crap like Deal or No Deal which has no educational value at all. |

Yes, because watching "intelligent" Americans make utter fools out of themselves by proving how incredibly stupid they are is so educational. I don't understand how the show can even be educational if, as suggested by the title, every question is something a 5th grader would know. I mean, come on now. I think we might be stretching here. |

They chose to go on the show and it's pretty much the same as Idol (watch people make fools of themselves). |

I never said it was Jeopardy. I just said "some educational value" no alot but some. More than Deal or No Deal. |

I'm going to have to agree with Joe. "Are You Smarter..." clearly has more educational value than Deal or No Deal, which is just an entire hour of a "guessing numbers" game. And wow at American Idol: it's absolutely huge. I can't believe how huge it still is. Peace, Mike. |

Another MyNetworkTV tidbit from Advertising Age: It has been losing $2 million per week." Holy cow, that's awful. How much longer can the network last with results like that? |

It delivered the highest series premiere on any network in viewership in nearly nine years!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() It was best series premiere in viewers since Sept. 24, 1998's "Jesse" on NBC (27 million)! The curiosity factor was huge, so will probably go away quickly, but still a phenomenal hold from AI |
