It was so awful I'm not surprised. Though the final ratings could still go down more or go up.

Didn't it take until March last season for Idol to drop below 30? Or am I making that up?

I think you're right!

EDIT: I checked TV Tracker and there was no info from the last weeks of February (or March 1st which is Wednesday) but Jiffy said the first semifinal had 30 million. On March 7th (Tuesday), Idol got a little over 28 million.

I checked the final numbers on abcmedianet.com, and it went below 30 on Feb 8, 14 and 15, but it was back up above on Feb 20, 21 and 27, with the 28th slipping just under.
