Criminal Minds didn't grow any as a result of the Superbowl episode. What a waste.

Bones seems to be doing better as of late.

CSI: NY did well. Nearly 3 million more viewers than the previous new episode a fortnight ago. Nelly Furtado hopefully has a fruitful acting career ahead.

Wow, Was Lost losing as much to CSI as it did when it tried to compete against CM?

Looks like the extended layoff hurt Lost more than the producers thought it would. It's now down into Heroes/24 territory. Not that there's anything wrong with that...

CM is averaging 17 million viewers. Up a million more than it was when it was going against Lost yet you try to compare the ratings of Bones thats riding the coat tails of AI to CM

Actually, those are level with what it was doing up against Lost. If I remember correctly it even got more viewers up against the Lost Fall Finale. Next week it'll level back off to 15-16M, so yeah, it was a waste. I've said it many times before, but HIMYM would've benefited from it MUCH more in the long-term.

As for Lost, pretty much all of the casual fans have left it. It really was a case of something that was never suppose to enter the mainstream but did, like The Matrix, and it killed it. But WOM from the premiere should keep it from dipping below 13M, hopefully.

The only other new episode that CM has had up against Idol got 13mil. So I think it benefited nicely.

Is WOM about Lost that great? The only place I see any is this one blog I read that used to gush over Lost and is now rather tepid. She said she was bored from the 20min mark until the end.

Good enough for Lost. It's obviously down, but I think that was to be expected. If it maintains 13-15 million viewers, it'll be fine.

I think its down because of the 2 month break. ABC should have did what 24 does this season. At least in the future they will be doing that. I think it will stay in 13-15 million viewers similar to what Heroes and 24 get.

VM and OTH both going down in flames at the same time. Tis just.

Hold me.

SOAPnet acquired rerun rights to the first four seasons of One Tree Hill. Does anyone know what effect this will have on CW's decision to renew or cancel it, if it continues the mediocre numbers? Will they feel less obligated to give it a fifth season with a syndie deal in place?

Well, that and the timeslot.

It's one of ABC's better rated Wednesday 10 PM slot in sometime so that's positive.

Yeah that is true, maybe though they should put it at 8PM next season when the start it in January, that could work better.

according to imdb thats the lowest rated episode yet for Lost.
It's slowly losing its buzz and ability to grip.

I know here in the UK its ratings have been sliding heavily since its first season.

Ouch. I didn't think the return episode would rate that low but it's been on its way down since mid-season 2, so it's not like it wasn't expected.

ABC will never cancel Lost. If there's one show that ratings mean the least, it's probably Lost. It generates so much income from other avenues probably it would still be on with 7 or 8 million (I mean god damn, look at What about Brian). Theyve decided to announce an end date sometime soon anyway, so what's the point of cancelling it?

I don't think most people care what it gets in the ratings anymore, they just want to be delivered a solid hour of drama per week.

Looks like both Lost and Housewives which revamped ABC a few years ago, are both seeing their lowest rated episodes yet.

I'm so happy Criminal Minds didn't change much. It's actually the third highest rated CM episode (aside from Superbowl) but it should fall back to sub-17m next week.

I actually think that the 10 pm move hurt Lost more than the hiatus. I read somewhere that Lost scored really, really well with families, and even with AI, 9 pm is alot more accessible to family audiences than 10 pm is. But I'm sure it was a combination of both.

Might want to think about putting it back at 8 then when it returns next season.

Yep, 10 PM is late for Lost. Where I live that means it airs 11-12, if it didn't air on CTV for Canadians at 8, I would have to tape it on school nights or not watch.

ABC really shouldn't be surprised that the ratings haven't stood up over three seasons if they can't keep it in the same time slot for even two seasons.

No idea, though I think it was assumed the show would get a syndication deal for a while, considering that once a show gets 90+ episodes, that's pretty much assured.

At this point I'm not as up in arms about the end as I was last year. Mainly because it's a good season in the characters lives to end, and honestly I now have so much in the actors rising film careers to look forward to. Chad is going nowhere and I can live with that because neither I nor the OTH fanbase even likes him, but the 3 actresses are. Sophia has already broken through, Hilarie already has 4 indies on her schedule to be released, Joy Galeotti has nothing yet because she's been trying her hand at music, but she's the most talented in the cast, so once there is no show to give her work, she'll probably move on to new things, and I don't doubt she'll succeed.

Honestly though the layoff and the CW's lack of promotion on the return combined with AI airing the night it was returning, was the reason OTH has withered up and died this year, and while I haven't been following VM's run, I expect a similar situation happened there. 35 mil viewers of Idol is such a death slice to every on the bubble show against it.

I was checking old ratings and when Bones was first moved before Idol, it was doing between 9-10 million. I expect Fox to do something moronic and squander the show's success.

Season 3 of Lost is DOA in Australia. It's really shocking! Even My Name Is Earl beat it.

Last week the show increased by about 2-3M in it's second half, so there are obviously people tuning in to Fox early, which is pumping it up some.
