Post subject:  The 'Lost' Thread (Season 3)

Season premiere October 4th 2006.

Lost will air on ABC in the US from 9pm to 10pm every Wednesday night (with a few exceptions, the premiere may be 8pm - 9pm). The first six episodes will be shown straight through without reruns, then Lost will disappear partially until February. This is not to penalize Lost but to cut down on the complains for a show that relies so much on previous week events that the audience was complaining about the amount of reruns. In February, the season will run straight, no repeats until the finale.

Episodes will be available the day after on iTunes.

Episode basic details. Schedule (subject to change) mostly from SpoilerFix http://www.spoilerfix.com/

Well, at least it does not start with a Jack flashback.

It would have been really awesome, though, if they opened it with a flashback of one of the Others.

The producers have also said that Libby is not through with yet, they will not get to Cindy the stewardes and they won't commit to whether or not Michael or Walt will be featured this season (apparently HP wanted off the show).

More new characters? Hmmm this shows lack of job security continues to impress.

Well this show did a good job of teasing me with murky answers and ever mounting questions so I'll be watching for sure come October.

Nice to see another Claire episode.

More Sun/Jin though... Those two have been given wayyyy too much.

I reeeaally wanted to see what happened to Cindy, as she would have been a great character being the last surviving crew member.

Perhaps we learn that Jin is a Nebraska insurance salesman who's had the memories of a Korean homeless man blended with his own to create a devilish creation from beyond........................It's Lost it's possible

awww... I was going to start this thread!

lol... no problem though. I rarely post here anymore, so... ;)

I predicted from last season that Kate would probably have the opener episode and ya... another Sun/Jin episode seems a bit worrisome. I wonder what the Claire episode has in store... usually hers deal with Aaron and thus, are pretty impactful so I hope it's not just filler.

They've been given four total episodes in the first 2 seasons, and they always "share" them, meaning that basically each character gets one episode.

How is that waaaaayyyyyyyyyyy too much?

You just hate Korean people. Racist!

Sun and Jin episodes are boring. If I want to read for an hour, I'll crack open a book.

I wonder if Michael well return in the first half of the season even briefly? No way that plot strand will be considered finished in my mind.

A jack episode in one of the first 6! Color me excited. Why can't he just die? I don't care if it's slow, quick, hot, cold, whatever, as long as the end result is a dead jack then I'm good.

I'm really glad with the way they're airing the season, the erratic schedule was not only annoying but also probably hurt its ratings last year.

I agree. I think it's pretty daring for a major network to air the show (one of the flagship ABC shows) in this way, but it helps other series on the cable channels.

I was reading an article and they actually considered just starting in early January and running through May but they thought it was way too long of a wait after Season 2 ended and that they needed *something* in the fall to keep it going.

Also, to me, if your show is going to take a break... Thanksgiving to Valentines Day is a great time to do it. I know that because the movies that I like usually hit in Nov, Dec, Jan, I'll be busy with other stuff, vacations, friends, holidays, etc.

I just read this on the forums at IMDb. It's citing the similarities between "Lost" and "Earth 2", a short-lived NBC series from 1995.

Quote:
I've posted this on the "Lost"-message board as well, but chances are greater that readers of this board have watched "Earth 2". I've watched the whole season of "Earth 2" and I've noticed a lot of similarities with "Lost". Here's what they have in common:

A sci-fi series about a group of people who crashlands on strange, deserted place.

Less than 50 survivors, men and women of different ages and ethnicities, focus on 10-12 main characters.

The season begins with a double episode about the crash, then episodes told from each of the main characters' point of view.

We gradually learn more about the main characters' past as the story progresses.

One of the central themes in the series is redemption/second chances.

A male survivor dies a few days after the crash.

Another male member of the group who has been sick/disabled suddenly gets well and is able to walk again.

One of the main characters is a doctor who is at odds with a character played by Terry O'Quinn.

Another main character is a military handyman with long, curly hair.

There's a single parent who has a son with mystical powers tied to the strange place they're in.

There's a married couple who fight all the time, one of them is from the upper class and one from the lower class.
(The man also has a difficult relationship with his father-in-law.)

They set up camp at a place where they find two human skeletons.

A woman has transmitted a message in a loop for approximately the last 20 years.

They encounter a crazy person with long frizzy hair who has been alone the past 15-16 years.

The survivors were spread out during the crash and they discover fellow passengers who've landed other places.

They encounter another group of wild, murdeous people who have been stranded on the place a long time.

There are mysterious monsters and one of the survivors has a special connection with them.

Something about the place they're in causes strange dreams/hallucinations.

I have no clue if it's all true (it's likely altered slightly to make the similarities closer to "Lost", but still). If so, then...

Okay... just because you're poster looks like Grey's Anatomy doesn't mean that your ratings will be the same.

I loved the previous 2 seasons' either panoramic or jam packed but great posters. This one is so bleh. I'm really starting to feel it turn from a truly promising drama to just another cult-fan-obsessed show.

Still can't wait for season 3 though
