Post subject: | The KJ Television Awards: SEND IN LAST MINUTE BALLOTS!!! |
After much discussion, we seem to have come to a good conclusion on categories for the 5th Annual Excellence in Television Awards (aka World of KJ Television Awards). Basically, if you're new to this, it's like all of our award shows (Poster awards, movie awards, etc.), except for television. You send me anywhere from 3 to 6 nominees per category (no more, no less please, if possible), and once all is said and done, we will have 5 or 6 nominees per category, except for Guest Star, which will see 8 nominees, since we are including drama and comedy for that category. So, without further ado, here are the categories: Excellence in a Dramatic Series Excellence in a Comedy Series Excellence in An Animated Series Excellence in a Reality/Game Show Excellence in a Lead Role, Actor in a Drama Excellence in a Lead Role, Actor in a Comedy Excellence in a Lead Role, Actress in a Drama Excellence in a Lead Role, Actress in a Comedy Excellence in a Supporting Role, Actor in a Drama Excellence in a Supporting Role, Actor in a Comedy Excellence in a Supporting Role, Actress in a Drama Excellence in a Supporting Role, Actress in a Comedy Excellence in a Single Episode, Comedy Excellence in a Single Episode, Drama Excellence in a Guest Star, Drama or Comedy Excellence in an Opening Sequence Excellence in a Talk Show Excellence in Gameplay, Reality/Game Show Contestant Excellence in a Special Episode, Series or Season Finale Excellence in Classic Television: The Excellence in TV Awards Hall of Fame Inductees NOTES: -For the Hall of Fame award, we will induct three more shows into the hall of fame. Any show that did NOT air this season at all, that has finished its run is eligible. Nominate anything from Futurama to All in the Family, from Melrose Place to Beverly Hills 90210. Anything that deserves Hall of Fame status in your eyes. Last year's winners which are obviously NOT eligible were Friends, Seinfeld, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. -Please choose three to six nominees for ALL categories, excluding the Hall of Fame award (for that, just nominate three maximum). Anything less is a bit of a hassle, since we need five or six nominees per category. -If an actor like Adam Brody (from "The O.C.") is nominated, put him where the series is considered (drama). It's a supporting role for an actor in a dramatic series, so it doesn't matter that he is more of a comedic character on the series. -Deadline for Nominating: Sunday, June 18th, 2006 *subject to change, if necessary* -Voting for Winners Deadline: Monday, July 3rd, 2006 *subject to change, if necessary* -Awards Date: unknown (Presumably the following weekend, so either Friday June 7th, Saturday July 8th, or Sunday July 9th. If there is interest, the unveiling of the nominees in a few weeks, and the awards show itself could run like all other KJ events. Send me all nominations through PM, and I will ask that you refrain from posting nominees here. For Your Consideration is welcome here and in the designated thread, but showing your ballot lists isn't really necessary. I cannot say not to, but I feel it takes away from the surprise. Thanks, and happy nominating! PS: Be sure to put a link in your signatures for this thread, if at all possible, so others will stop by. I'll set up a Water Cooler thread next week, for anyone not frequently in the TV forum. |

Question. I don't watch any reality shows (or really, any animated shows currently on tv), so can I opt out of nominating for those categories? Also, who from Entourage is considered lead? |

Also, who from Entourage is considered lead? Well, like I said, I'd really like to see full ballots (3 to 6 per). I don't see much "FYC" campaigns for animated or reality shows. So, if you really cannot fill anything into any of the reality or animated categories, that's fine. I won't turn away ballots. But, if you think you can add a show or two, do it. |

And, I'd consider that Adrian guy to be the lead on Entourage. |

So we nominate 8 people for guest star? Or are there just 8 nominations? |

Heh, I wouldn't oppose, but I'm really not going to turn ballots away that aren't complete. I'll take what I can get. So bABA, if you do have time, throw something together with the shows you do watch. If you don't, that's okay too. |

yoshue wrote: Is Boston Legal comedy or drama? 'Cause they're going comedy in this year's emmys. Are they? If they are, that's good, since Spader won't steal the best actor in a drama Emmy away from Hugh Laurie, who deserves it this year. ![]() |

Boston Legal is comedy, I suppose. Colbert Report is talk, as is Daily Show. |

Though I'd say you could vote Colbert and The Daily Show in the comedy category, too. |

Family Guy was nominated for animated AND Comedy last year, if I do recall, so why not a comedy like Colbert or Daily Show? I don't know if either show has enough fans here, but if they do, and they nominate it for Comedy, it'd be a nice variety. |

Can The Sopranos be considered as a comedy for this season? Its comedic episodes were so much better than the dramatic ones this year. |

It was just announced that Boston Legal will again compete in the drama category, not comedy as reported earlier. |
