Judging by the numbers, CSI had more viewers (over 29 million to Housewives 28.17 million), and I believe both will be neck and neck in the ratings, but the Housewives blew CSI out of the water in the 18-49 demographic. Pretty good for the show. |

revolutions wrote: only 26 million for DH. dang i was off by 4 mill. It's actually 28 million. 26 is the share. Meaning, 26% of all households that are watching TV that night saw Desperate Housewives. The premiere drew 8 million more than last year's. It's gonna be a tight race between CSI and DH. w00t FOX - Simpsons, 10 million and Family Guy close to 9 million! AD close to 8 million! ![]() |

If 'Commander in Cheif' can get 20m viewers on Tuesday, then i think ABC is the one to beat this year despite having week shows on Thurs-Sat. However they can afford to go to their reliable 'Jennifer Garner' crowd to ensure Alias is a chance to beat Joey, the O.c. and Everybody hates Chris. |

I have doubts now that Housewives will keep up the 25+ million weekly ratings, so if it does... I applaud them all and abc for a huge comeback! |

I love how The West Wing is actually DOWN from American Dreams' ratings from last season, in the 18-49 demographic, while the overnights are identical to American Dreams last year. God, I hope the show ends. It's not like it bothers me on TV, but I get scared at Emmy time when it's nominated for Best Drama. With the out-of-nowhere winners this year, I wouldn't put it past the Emmy voters to give it a Best Drama win next year. |

Well, The West Wing was off nearly 4 Million viewers from last season, and down 28% With such poor showings from nearly all veteran shows this year i can only hope Alias and 24 are doomed to the same fate. |

Umm... I understand wishing the same fate on 24, seeing as how you are in fact LUCIFER, and hate the show, but Alias? Why wish the same fate on Alias? Even if you meant that you don't want the same fate on those shows, I can't understand why you'd want 24 to succeed. |

Does anyone know the order. |

Not sure what you mean about the week, but it's obviously Sunday-Saturday, just like we count the weeks. Is that what you mean? I think the order was CSI,Desperate Housewives,Lost, and Survivor, but the last two could be reversed order. |

And if the week starts on Sunday, I guess that means DH will go into the start of this week and the others were last week. and DH might win this week? |

Teh ratings week is Monday to Sunday. Everyday, they release overnights, which are pretty close results for what type of numbers the shows of the previous night pulled in. The actuals, as Christian said, I believe, are released every Tuesday for the week before. I usually look at them on Wednesday because they are published every Wednesday in the LA Times Calendar section. They have the top 100+ rated shows (basically every show from the 6 networks in a given week) with viewers in million. then, they also rank the networks average ratings for the week and tabulate their season to date standings in average viewers. If all what I just said makes sense, then I'm happy for you. So, this Wednesday, I'll look in the paper for the actuals on what was the first week of the 05-06 Season, 9/19-9/25 It sucks for tracking LOST because although I always look at the overnights, I have to wait an entire week to find out the actuals for the previous week's episode. Anyway.... I once started posting the weekly updates of the network season to date average ratings... I will probably start a thread listing the top 20 or so of the week and any other you might want me to look up. |

the "actuals" are actually released 2 days after every day. In this case it just happens that 2 days after Sunday = Tuesday and thats when the week has been completed with accurate data. The top shows of the week were 1. CSI [29.0m] 17.3/26 2. Desperate Housewives [28.4m] 17.3/25 3. Lost [23.5m] 13.8/20 4. Criminal Minds [19.6m] 5. CSI: Miami [19.2m] 6. Grey's Anatomy [19.0m] 7. Survivor [17.0m] 8. Law & Order SVU [16.8m] 9. Invasion [16.5m] 10. 60 Minutes [16.4m] Worrying 18. E.R - [14.4m] Its widely know that E.R is easily one of if not the most expensive shows on network television; right now a sophmore Medical show is outrating it by over 4.6 Million viewers. Even House is closing in on it. |
