Did anyone see the series premiere last night? I never really watch much on UPN, but I had heard really great things about this show, and I definately wasn't dissapointed. Yeah, part of it comes from the fact that despite having a very different family, there were certain things I could identify with when I was a couple years younger, but I think the real reason the show has already won me over is that it was genuinely funny, clever, and well made. I for one will be watching this show for some time.

I pretty much loved it.

Not laugh-out-loud funny (well, maybe a couple times), but yeah, like you said, it's really genuine and has more of a sense about what it is than just a 'black people move to a white neighborhood and chaos ensues, hardee har!'

The acting is pretty great, too.

Its a pretty clever and funny show, it does show that Chris Rock was involved in the show alot. He doesnt hold anything back and doesnt seem to be lying at all about his childhood whereas most childhood teen shows always show the cool and popular side of schoo, its a breath of fresh air when they show more of the loner reject type that isnt rich and wealthy. Probably one of the better childhood shows since Freaks and Geeks, a show that deals with being the underdog. Im glad UPN took a chance on the show whereas if it was taken hold of by other major networks, they probably would of watered it down or white-washed it

It was clever but too bad he ripped off Howard Stern's idea to do this show since Howard Stern had him on his Morning Radio Show and told Rock about his plan to make "Howard Stern: The High School Years" and I find it coincidental that shortly after Stern told him of this idea, then Rock came up with this format to do his show.. :-k He won't admit it but come on already..

Maybe if you sent me reminders every week, this wouldn't happen. Ever think about that, Mr. X? Have you!?

For the sake of one hit comedy, which would likely do just as well on Mondays, UPN is losing a lot of viewers compared to last season (with WWE Smackdown!). The rest of their Thursday lineup resembles their Friday ratings from last season. But, Smackdown is doing pretty well on Fridays this season, so... if they could find a worthy lead-out comedy, and possibly a drama project for 9pm, they might find more viewers for Thursday. But, UPN just doesn't have the ability to find a successful drama lately. Seeing as how Veronica Mars is their highest rated drama, they need to find other dramas. Heck, they only have one other one!

I love Veronica Mars, but sticking a highly-rated (for UPN) reality show in front of their universally loved drama (Veronica Mars) is not a good move. The network has no idea how to build at all. They throw a bunch of unestablished comedies with a new (and, at the time before its premiere, unestablished) comedy on Thursday. They air reruns of a reality show to lead into a new drama (Sex, Love and Secrets). They air new episodes of aforementioned reality show to lead in to Veronica Mars, a far cry from two matching shows. Their Monday lineup is the only stable lineup. They need established dramas to air with each other, and established comedies. They can't ride along America's Next Top Model, WWE Smackdown, and two or three of their Monday comedies forever.

Sorry, this was all about UPN and little about Chris.

Liked the second episode but not as much as the first.

The stories with the parents are a lot funnier than the ones with the kids so far.
