Is that good or bad for The O.C.? I thought it would be a little higher considering how many girls I know that watch this show...

Bleh for OC, but Reunion's retention is really great.

Ah, The O.C. is not bleh, mister. :nonono:

It doesn't have the best ratings in the world, but shows on Fox typically don't and it was #2 in the 18-to-49 demo.

Hah, me and all my girlfriends sometimes have O.C. viewing parties. No joke.

Watch it.

Yeah, and that would make the only guy in school that does watch it...

I've only seen one episode, and that was the one where they were going to show the new trailer for Sith. Heh.

It's a girlie show, Zingy. Next she'll be wanting to paint your nails.

I guess I expected a little bit better ratings for the NFL season opener. :nope:

Reunion is almost a lock for a full season with that retention rate. Has Prison Break got extended to a full season or not?

Not yet. I assume Fox wants to wait and see if PB continues to hold. I hope both it and Reunion get full season orders because they're great.

And the fact that Fox's Thursday (and Friday) lineup usually dies, the two shows did relatively okay.

Yeah, The OC and Reunion did great for FOX. But, if ratings slip (usually, premiere ratings end up being the highest ratings for a show for the whole season), The OC and Reunion may not be as strong as their fans would like. Still, it's an improvement for FOX, and it's nice to see them get a little strength where they usually get pummeled.

Wow... look at the grouping... ABC is first, then CBS has all its 3 shows, then Fox with its entire line-up and then all of NBC's shows after one another!

I'm really bored!

UPN would have beaten the WB if they didn't send Smackdown to Friday nights.

I so never got the hoopla about The O.C;
Its all a bit too superficial for me.

Those ratings are pretty darn meh for the debut though.
7.4 Million viewers ; off 20% from last seasons debut for "The Oc" - ratings are likely to decline further as "Alias"," Smallville" and "Survivor" all join the arena.....so its not great news. Reunion held onto 6.64 Million viewers. Again not great but not a disaster.

Meanwhile Prison Break may have debuted to 10.5 Million viewers on the back of a strong ads campaign; but week 2 showed 8.5 Million of those returning. You do the math.

Its too early to say if FOX is on an up or down...

It's still the "pre-season", don't forget.

Ahem, it's FOX what do you expect? The only few shows to have really great premieres there... .... .....

See what I mean?

24 took four seasons to have a really great premiere. American Idol, the 2nd season. Even The O.C.'s series premiere (about 8-9 million) wasn't that great but FOX stuck with it though the ratings have declined then because it gets the target demographics it covets - the "superficial" teens.

The O.C. and Reunion premieres are good for a FOX Thursday. Reunion has a hell of a lot better retention rate than Point Pleasant.

And North Shore! North Shore came on last year at this time, while I believe Point Pleasent was an "unpleasent" midseason replacement.

Bad numbers for OC,hopefully it will be cancelled at the end of its season,we dont need shit shows like that on T.V IMO.

Mr.X; these are probobly the highest ratings The O.C is likely to see this season.
I mean; it may rise over the next few weeks...it MAY.

But then when Smallville, Survivor and Alias all come to town the viewerships are going to be very very tough for all shows.

Id expect an alias epsiode to garner about 7.5-9 Million this year. The OC about 6 Million and Smallville about 4-5 Million. Whichever TV execs decided putting some of the networks most popular shows head to head would be a good idea need to be sacked. I dont care how much Stephen Macpherson has done to revolutionise ABC the past 4 years; Alias on thursday night is a bad idea

P.S - the Alias cast are all up in th whole "The changes to the show are going to have EVERYONE talking" thing . I hope they mean that in a GOOD way this year. Because the last time that was mentioned [season 3] things werent so great.

Well, WWE Smackdown was moved to Friday nights, and it seems to have maintained the large majority of its previous Thursday ratings. I hope Alias can mimick the same ratings it had on Wednesdays/Sundays, or at least do something that will keep it on the air.

Pretty much anything is better than what ABC is used to getting in this timeslot.

Im trying to ignore the whole "alias is probobly finishing next year" thing because it depresses me immensely.

That's only because the show is in a crap timeslot, and is expected to do crap numbers. I hope it proves everyone wrong, and does well.

With Alias ive learned not to expect good ratings. That said last season i WAS surprised when it did like 16.5 Million viewers in the first episode. It held really quite well until American Idol came on and coincidentally - the worst epsidoes of the season were before the Idol hit.
