The other reason I like the UK version is because of....

Tony Slattery.

He was by far the most unpredictable of the bunch, and his jokes are by far the funniest. I miss Tony, bring him back.

I foten watched the American version when it was quite popular and it was funny, some skits much more than others, but then I kinda lost interest because it was getting repetitive and only had a few or only a couple times in an episode where I really laughed!

No, he's talking about Josie Lawrence. She was easily the best of any women contestant (that is, in my opinion, except for Sandi Toksvig).

YEAA! The one with the Chinky Eyes. She was terrific.
She made 1 or 2 appearances on the first couple episodes of the american version.

Personally, I like the UK version better because the performers had more wit and the suggestions where more original. The Drew Carey version has it's moments, but recently, they've been doing the same thing all over again. Also, Drew is no Clive Anderson.

I prefer the UK version of it because it usualy had the staple characters of Colin Mochrie & Ryan Styles but they always had different people going on. The US version kinda sucked because it was always the same people.

There was actually 3 of the same people(cause they were all brilliant) with 1 other person being different each week. I actually liked the U.S. version much better because it was more fun and it didn't feel so much as serious as the U.K. version

I used to watch the UK version a lot in the early 90s but I prefer the US version because I like the performers. On the UK version they were sometimes funny but just as often there was some stuckup twit trying to act snidely superior. Also the UK version had Greg Proops a lot and he's annoying. Wayne Brady takes a lot of flack but I think he's more talented than the overrated Stephen Fry.

I've only watched the U.S. version and I love it. Drew Carey though isn't funny without written lines. He can't improvise very well. The tall guy (Ryan?) is the best along with the bald guy (Colin?).

A Jim Carrey appearance would have been beyond amazing. Drew Carey's Green Screen lasted about four episodes. I didn't see it, so my examples from the previous post are merely assumption and vague memory.

Yeah Josie Lawrence, she was great. Both she and Slattery had this real likeability, I wish they had become more popular. I didn't mean to put down Fry so much by the way, I did like him a lot in Blackadder. I saw one of those again just a couple nights ago moaning over his dead beloved pigeon "speckled Jim". Along with the always great Hugh Laurie who I can't get used to him having an American accent on House.
