 Re: Game of Thrones:Season 5
Now that was fucking epic!! Stunning. White walkers! That's the end game. And with all the talk of Dany returning to Westeros - she can't come soon enough.
And a great episode overall. Goes to show that you don't need a full episode devoured to a particular battle. The direction was stellar and puts the overrated Marshall to shame.

 Re: Game of Thrones:Season 5
Amazing Episode, you would think they would leave something like this for episode 9, now i have to wonder wtf will happen in the next episode, usually episode 9 is the episode of the season but i doubt it will top this.

It's gotta be the only reason why they keep featuring scenes with the little twat.
And I feel like she is eventually gonna ride off with Tyrion on Drogon,

Olli will definitely kill Jon, but will he be the only one? That's a murder, not a mutiny. That would much different than the books.
Dragon riding should be the final scene of the season.

They're setting up a big fighting pit scene but at this point, it doesn't make sense for Dany to fly away now that Tyrion is here and she seems to have the advice she needs to rule Probably but I don' think Et Tu Olly happens this season especially when there are only two episodes left. They still haven't really gotten to the part where Jon was conspiring with Stannis to remove the Boltons and the Wildlings to free Sansa(fake Arya in the books)

 Re: Game of Thrones:Season 5
Wow.
I finally watched Sunday's episode and it was Amazing! I loved it all. There was so much to like but the last 15 minutes was just superb. These are the type of zombies/ghosts whatever you want to call it that should have been in ROTK not those unkillable green phantoms. Anyway, that fight between Snow and that head walker was awesome too. I was just on the end of my seat as he was trying to scramble for that dragon glass. Then when that sword hit and that walker's expression I just about jumped off my couch! Ahhh. God damn I can't wait for next week.
As for other things in the episode, I'm actually semi slightly feeling bad for Cersei. Slurping water off a dirty stone floor is low. Her son is no King. I won't be surprised if he gets poisoned before the end of this season now. I enjoyed seeing Tyrion use his superb communication skills to once again talk himself out of being executed. I liked the little bit we got with Arya and Stansa. Brianne gonna be coming around that mountain before the season's end there too.
Once last bit, for anyone who has played WOW was anyone kind of expecting to see a Frost dragon just come swooping down from all that snowy mist?

Dragon riding should be the final scene of the season. I agree with Flava... It will probably be Ollie and others - under the watchful eye of Thorne. It has to happen this season. It will happen Episode 10.
Dany flying off on Drogon is something that I always expected to happen at the end of this season. I'd wager it will still happen - possibly even at the end of EPISODE 9.
I suspect Jorah and maybe Tyrion will take Barristan's place in the battle - but this may be pushed to early next season. Then Dany will return and plans to invade Westeros will begin. But yeah - I think an extra 2 episodes this season would have been perfect.

 Re: Game of Thrones:Season 5
I dare say that the last twenty minutes might have been the biggest and most action-packed twenty minutes ever on television, certainly as far as special effects go. It's insane how that looked. Maybe I was awe-struck from the whole sequence to notice if it looked cheap but I didn't notice it on my first viewing. I defy anyone to find any twenty minute action sequence that looks better on TV, ever. That was it.
Not to mention the scenes between, easily, the two most significant characters of the show. Any non-fans familiar with the show would at least know of either Tyrion or Dany or both.

 Re: Game of Thrones:Season 5
I do remember some scenes from Band of Brothers and the Pacific that were up there. Of course they also were highly budgeted.
But yeah that Hardhome scene is up there as the best action sequence from any film and tv behind Mad Max but above the church fight scene in Kingsmen

 Re: Game of Thrones:Season 5
I'm now worried that Jon's death is going to turned into a full Red Weddingish massacre with Edd, Tormund and Wun Wun getting caught in it. It would have to happen this episode though. Dany flying Drogon would be the badly needed pick-me-up in the finale.

 Re: Game of Thrones:Season 5
Yeah I was kinda liking Stannis this season, but not so much after this episode. And not just because he sacrificed his daughter (even though that's more than enough). His entire character took a huge hit this episode and he's really no different than most others seeking the throne or other positions of power now in the show.
I guess this makes his character and storyline more interesting going forward? Bleh.
But more importantly, DANY RIDING DROGON!

 Re: Game of Thrones:Season 5
the last 15 minutes was the best part. I loved seeing Dany riding Drogon. It was a great moment, one of the best moments of the show. As for Stannis, I can understand why desperation leads to doing things that you don't want to do. However, it seems like she has the same fate in the book if you watch the commentary. They seem to suggest Martin told them about this scene. I am guessing it happens in Winds of Winter not sure why but I can probably guess.
