 Re: SNL Season 38
Tried to watch tonight's episode. Missed Weekend Update. The only memorable part for me was the opening sketch.

 Re: SNL Season 38
Terrible episode! Enjoyed her opening and found it funny, and even found the "Girlfriends Talk Show" really funny (I have no idea why but this skit usually does make me laugh), but the rest was just awful. A real shame Lawrence was so badly wasted. They need better writers.

Great commercial for The Hobbit... Peter Jackson splits the remaining two episodes into 18 more movies!
Filmed in Peter Jackson's ShitVision!
See the final film with your grandkids in 2028!

 Re: SNL Season 38
Ya know, I really can't complain when the opening monologue features random cameos from Jerry Seinfeld, Cameron Diaz and Andy Samberg in addition to Adam Levine taking off his clothes.
I'm also laughing way too hard right now (catching up on Hulu) at Bill Hader's jealous fireman skit.

When Bobby Moynihan put on the coat and scarf on the shrieking fireman. Awesome.

Didn't see it yet, but disappointed that they didn't/couldn't get Conan for the Five-Timers Club skit.

 Re: SNL Season 38
Such a great SNL last night. JT is just a winner at all things in life.
Also loved the second appearance of the utterly bizarre end skit with Vanessa Bayer and Cecily Strong (the Moet and Chander champagne skit as opposed to Swarovski crystals like last time).

 Re: SNL Season 38
It was amazing for the first 45 minutes, lost its way after Weekend Update (that Maine skit and the Caligula skit were both AWFUL and dragged it down a lot) and closed out awesomely with the Vanessa Bayer/Cecily Strong bit.

I think only Chevy Chase and Bill Murray returned to host the very next year after they had departed. Ben Affleck hosts for his fifth time on May 18th.

Loved the Stefon (and Bill Hader) send-off on Weekend Update. I'm gonna miss Hader a lot.
Also, they brought back the "drugged out porn stars shilling stuff" skit, which has become one of my favorites.

 Re: SNL Season 38
I can't believe there apparently isn't a thread for the current season. We should just make this a general SNL thread and not bother going by seasons. I watched tonight. Had to for Josh Hutcherson. It actually wasn't bad. Most of the sketches were pretty amusing. Josh seemed to be having a fun time. Haim was a great musical guest. I love the song "The Wire." The one girl makes the weirdest facial expressions though. Regardless they're a cool band. The worst, most WTF sketch was the Thanksgiving one at the end where he brought home a turkey as his Thanksgiving date. I got excited at the beginning thinking it would be one of those kissing family sketches. I wanted to see Josh kissing a guy . But alas, it ended up being something totally different and just dumb. My favorite was the Girlfriends Talk Show. I've always enjoyed this sketch. It's really amusing/funny. The one girl is great. I also laughed at the veterinary clinic one.

 Re: SNL Season 38
I laughed a lot at this one. I'm pretty sure the writers were high when they wrote all of tonight's sketches, they were all so odd!
My favorites were the 80s lipsynch and the animal hospital.

Yes, the 80's lipsynch was fun. The whole episode save for that last sketch was quite enjoyable.

Weird episode, but OK. The worst was the one with the boss at the beginning.
