Just watched the first episode online, it's surprisingly good. I exited during season three, but the loss of the annoying Marissa makes me wanna watch it again. Since they couldn't completely ignore her death, they did a really good job with the opener. And reading that the next episodes are even better (especially No. 4 is rumored to be marvellous), I might become a follower again. Sadly they lost the audience with season three, so it won't be going into season five. Although I'm secretly hoping the CW will buy the rights to the show and replace some of their crappy line-up. O.C. could be a huge hit for them

NOTICE:

OC airs new episodes both Wednesday and Thursday during its normal time slot as Fox has pulled "Happy Hour" and "The Rich List" from the schedule, the latter after only 1 episode.

By accident I caught the second episode tonight I think, CTV seems to be airing it Tuesday and Wednesday this week, due to their schedule conflicting I bet.

And yes, it is a lot better than the last 2 seasons... But honestly while I think for quality tv-showmaking it's probably up there with the 1st, it just isn't as fun. OC will always be a show that's fun and entertaining but with the character and story depth of a stick, and while this is an improvement, I don't think losing the comedy and lightness is a great idea... that's what it has to bank off. Also it does still have a lot of holes... Kaitlyn is much less painful than Marissa, but still terribly bland. Also Summer's tree hippie thing kind of doesn't fit and having her away from the rest of the cast kind of sucks. I do like Julie this season though(Melissa Clark?... forget her name, heh) and Sandy does his job as always.

I may keep watching if they keep airing it on Tuesdays.

Hey, does anyone remember sometime this summer Fox ordering a full season for The OC? Is that just my imagination?

The one reason they may not cancel it is that this is the last season anyway so why not just let it run its course so as not to anger the fans who've been watching it for years.

They won't cancel it abruptly. Josh Schwartz has said that if the show is nearing cancellation FOX will let him know so he can do a proper sendoff.

So I just saw last night's episode and it was easily the best in a long time. It kind of sucks that no one's watching it after it has gotten back on track creatively.

It was a decent episode, but no better than any of the rest of the season... I don't get the hype around it. To be honest I liked it less, somehow.

My biggest problems:

1. I support pushing Ryan and Taylor and making her the female lead, however this is much much too fast. From no scenes together to kissing and eating dessert in one episode? At least make her a lead for a bit, give them some chemistry, this is just shoving it in our face. However she's much better than Marissa, so it will work out in the end.

2. Summer changed too quickly from season to season. Diva to true tree hugger, seemingly because the writers just wanted to. They gave no in between room, no give, it's not possible for someone to completley become a new person so quickly. I don't want to bring up OTH again, but I find it interesting how they've had two completley contrasting viewpoints this season... I believe Brooke speaks much more true though, when she contests people can never really change.

Show is an improvement, but it still needs work. Episode 4 was far from the return to form.

^ I agree!

And Autumn Reeser has impeccable timing and delivery.

Just watched last night's episode and it was absolutely fantastic! It's one of the best episodes since the first season (aside from the third season finale) and displayed once again why I love this show. Rachel Bilson is awesome this year, I'm loving the Seth-Summer relationship more and more every day and hope they stay together. The storyline with Julie and Kaitlin was great too. But the best thing about the episode, hands down, was the new flirtation between Taylor and Ryan. I never thought I would like it so much, but the final scene in the poolhouse between the two was so adorable and Autumn Reeser was cuter than ever. I really hope they get together and, I can't believe I'm saying this, I like Taylor better than Marissa.

I love this season so far! :D The brilliance of the show is back, and the perfect mixture of comedy, drama and romance is clearly on display in ways we haven't seen before. And the good news is that the ratings are increasing every week. While the first episode of the season barely got over 3 Million viewers, last night's was almost up to 4 Million! Hopefully the word will get out about how great this season is and it can get back up to where it originally was. I really want this to make 100 episodes.

Saw the first episode yesterday and I thought it was great. The comic 'presentation' was excellent.

Just watched the third episode and what I really like is that they still deal with Marissas death and not just handle with it in one episode and then go back to normal.

This show is just as good as it was in its first season now (I'm thinking it has...something...to do with Marissa's absence). It's too bad no one's watching.

Other notes:

Kaitlin is so so so so much more tolerable than Marissa ever was.

Ryan has had more chemistry with Taylor in 3 episodes than he did with Marissa in 3 seasons.
