Sandra Oh and Chandra Wilson are both up for supporting!
You know, the writing and supporting categories didn't use the new system, and I like them a hell of a lot better.

Yeah the lead and series combinations screwed up because of it.
YAY for Bailey!

Interesting, American Idol with 8 nominations ties the record for most nominations in a single year by a "nonfiction" program.
HBO still leads all with 95 nominations. ABC has 64.

No Hugh Laurie!? No Jason Lee?! NO DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES AT ALL?!
... the Kristen Bell thing is just a slap in the face, a kick to the balls, and a knife to the back.
Don't even get me started on seeing nominations for Kevin James, Will & Grace, and none for Veronica Mars, Weeds for Comedy, or Six Feet Under for drama.
... I think the Emmys took the "more surprises" thing a little tooooo seriously.
But.
I am happy for Kiefer, Itzin, Jean Smart, 24 for drama and their numerous technical and directing Emmy nods.
And finally, I'd like to take the time to personally thank whoever nominated Masters of Horror for, not only music composition, but also theme song. I've said it a million times: the best part of the show is the opening theme song. Now, I won't get picky and wonder why it wasn't nominated for Main Title Design.

I love that things are way different...but a lot of those new picks are so damn middle-of-the-road! Kevin James? Two and A Half Men?
Still, three cheers for the Lost, Ny Name is Earl, and Desperate Housewives snubs!

And, I'm more than happy that this is the last year where I will suffer through nominations for Will and Grace, as well as The West Wing. I'm sure they're great shows, but for the love of God, give it up!

Also, WILL AR-FUCKING-NETT!
The other Scrubs and AD actors got the shaft, though.

You will not receive one hip, nor the following hip. But, I will reward you with a hooray (for the Housewives snub).

The funny thing is that they did the whole new procedure to help small shows and in particular, WB and UPN... but... yeah, no. Leary and Sedgwick and Kudrow did get in, but they're pretty much somewhat expected.

Speaking of West Wing, I'm glad to see Alda's nomination, annoyed at Martin Sheen's, and SHOCKED to see no John Spencer.

What a huge boot to the face for the Housewives, to have Alfre Woodard nominated, but no one else. Considering I blame her character for giving the Housewives a sophomore slump, I think it's rather hilarious.
Eva Longoria doesn't have to feel left out anymore, at least!
FOUR nominations for The Colbert Report. Nice!

I feel the same way. I figured John Spencer's nomination was a given. And, I'm always happy to see Alan Alda get recognized. If there was one reason that I would have watched The West Wing last season, it was for Alan Alda.

As much as I expected the Kristen Bell snub, I'm still upset. But even more than that, I'm upset about the complete shut out of all Scrubs actors.

I've always found it amazing that the Emmys can ignore certain people. The Kristen Bell thing was almost expected. But no Hugh Laurie? Or Mary-Louise Parker? John C. McGinley has never received a nomination. It's almost a crime.
I feel slightly better knowing that 24 leads all shows with 12 nominations, even though most top shows in their heydays have received over 20 nods (Six Feet Under, The Sopranos, West Wing).
More: No John Krasinski, Rainn Wilson or Jenna Fischer? Argh.
Some more nice surprises: Will Arnett. Jaime Pressly. Again, the pair of Gregory Itzin and Jean Smart.
Edit: And, I'm really thrilled that Bryan Cranston was nominated for Malcolm. I lost touch with the show after Season 4, but he was always someone I wanted to see win an Emmy. I'll be rooting for Cranston, Arnett or Piven.
Edit 2: Whoops, I'm almost missed all the Extras love. The Kate Winslet episode was hilarious.
