That's an OK idea.
Replace "the" with "a" and I would watch it hands down.

Well I want a cougar to attack the CTU! Tell me that wouldn't be awesome... I dare you.

not nearly as cool as in season 2 when the cougar attacked kim in the woods and she ended up trapped in this rapest military shelter.

is this Tony stuff just fan speculation or actually confirmed through a script/insider leak?

the 4th likely is that Tony Almeida is coming back.
That'll be quite a radical change, but as long as it has Jack + Tony, I'm there. Please let it be Tony...

Well, no CTU + no presidential drama would be nice. If it were just Jack and Tony fighting terrorists, that'd be awesome.

Pick up TV Guide, they reveal that somebody everybody thought was long dead will be back with a vegeance. So I guess TV Guide confirms that there is a mystery, surprise figure in the finale. I am really think Tony will be back, to get revenge on those who killed Michelle.

I think it would be a good idea to leave CTU and go somewhere else. Also about the dead character returning. I too think it is Tony, but lets play Devil Advocate here.
Here are the list of the Major dead characters and the chances they could return (I am not posting minor characters or people who only appeared in a couple of episodes. They had to play a major role in the show)
Richard Walsh- Jack's former Boss killed by Ira Gaines's me. Chance 455 I have to admit he has a chance though I think 99% of the audience wouldn't have a clue who he was. I would have to pop in my Season 1 DVD just to remember what he looked like.
Ira Gaines- Hit man for hire killed by Jack Chance 0% Sorry Jack killed him he is dead.
The Drazens- The main villains of Season 1: Chance 0% Jack killed them as well I don't think they are alive.
George Mason- Former head of CTU sacrificing himself by downing a nuke into the desert. Chance 0%, I think bringing him back would just ruin his character first off second, I can't see how he could have escaped.
The Salzars- Drug lords who were vilains in Season 3 Chance 5%, this is mainly for the other brohter, although he might be too obscure, IMO.
Nina Myers- murdered Terri Bauer killed by Jack chance 5% I leave that open only because that would shcck the hell out of me, although I don't see them doing it because Jack would know she is dead.
Ryan Chappelle-Former head of Divison, killed by Jack Bauer. 0% Jack shot him in the head, he is dead.
Sherry Palmer- former wife of David Palmer chance 50%, now I do think she is more likely than some, but I am not sure what role she could play without David around.
Saunders- Main villain of Season 3, killed by Gael's widow- chance 10%. I suppose he could be alive, but I doubt it
Paul Raines- former husband of Audrey died when jack tried to save a chinese spy, chance 0%. I think Audrey made it clear he was dead. I don't think they would have just not known he was still alive.
David Palmer- Former president shot in the neck by terrorists- chance 50%. I can't rule David Palmer out. Although, I am not sure he would come back, plus he is the main character on the Unit, unless that show is getting cancelled or something.
Michelle Dressler- former head of CTU, married to Tony- killed by bomb chance 25%. I leave it open but I doubt it, I don't think she could have survived that car bomb.
Edgar Stiles- former comptuer analysis, gased by Russian Terrorists. Chance 0% no way he survived that.
Tony Almedia- former head of CTU killed by Hendersen with a syringe. Chance 95%, first his death was just strange and so sudden. I mean a syringe?? He wasn't shot and we have no idea what was in that thing. Also Jack has been gone for almost two years and he didn't go back to CTU after leaving thinking he was dead. He could have been alive and Jack just didn't know.
Hendersen- badie of season 5- kiled by Jack chance 0%. Jack shot him and I see no reason to bring him back.
I am not including Season 6 charactes. I mean they said long dead (and I know season 5 was last year but it has been two years for Jack). I would go in this order
Tony
David Palmer
Richard Walsh
Michelle
Nina
I can't think of another character that is believeable altthough only Tony and Sherry could be explained rationally.

loyalfromlondon wrote: confirmation from the TvGuide article of Tony, CTU and DC going MIA, and more. (thanks to someone from 24spoilers for typing this all up) If you're a longtime fan of 24, we don't blame you for feeling a little weary as Day 6 draws to a close. After perhaps the most invigorating season yet last year, this one's been just plain exhausting.
President Wayne Palmer was in a coma, brought out of a coma, then conked out again. Former President Logan got stabbed by his First Lady, but we haven't seen him since. Bad guys were surrounded and strongholds raided in ways we've seen before. Meanwhile, at a strangely crowded CTU, our quirky gal pal Chloe O'Brian is barely recognizable with all her grown-up glamour and relationship problems.
Where's the pasty computer geek we all knew and loved.
Then there's Jack Bauer. He hasn't been as high-profile as usual this season. He started the day as a hirsute, shivering mess, having just emerged from a Chinese prison camp. Soon enough he went rogue, tracking nuclear suitcases around the US, a plot that somehow involved Jack's father and brother. Not to mention Arabs, Russians, the Chinese and Audrey Raines who was dead, er, not dead, and now, well, who the heck knows.
"I'll be honest, it's been a challenge having the show in it's sixth year," says Howard Gordon. " I'd be lying to say we didn't have a fantasy we could outdo ourselves again. But at somepoint, you just have to tell a story, and I'm happy to report the season ends with a ot of firepower."
The truth is, as long as Jack's still Jack and America's still in danger, we can't help but watch him sweat, bite, and hack in the name of freedom, peace, and security. And while fans at jumptheshark.com may be groaning, Sutherland laughs and says. " Just wait." " There's a huge transition that's happening between this season and next year, and a lot of what's happening is about putting old story lines to rest so that new one's can emerge."
More on that shortly. In the meantime, Jack's got to save a nation.
In the most recent episodes, Jack's rogue exploits have caught up with him, and his short-fused side-kick Mike Doyle marshalled him and a shell-shocked Audrey into custody at CTU. " I kept joking I was always a second too late with Jack but I finally got him," Ricky Schroder says, laughing. Over at the White House, Karen Hayes had to fire her husband, Bill Buchanan, while acting President Noah Daniels was having an affair with assistant Lisa. But the real story is that the evil Cheng is still one the loose with FB sub-circuit boards, whatever they are. Says Gordon. " It's the classic McGuffin, but don't take your eyes off them. The boards become lifesaving currency for Audrey."
We're about to discover that Audrey's been drugged and tortured, which explains her batty behavior. We'll also see a more emotional side to Chloe when the CTU diva loses it during a drama with her ex-husband, Morris, who's still spiraling from being forced to arm the remaining nukes. The soap opera continues when Lisa meets up with a mysterious man for not so mysterious reasons: hot sex. " Lisa is going to become an increasingly significant figure this season," Gordon says. " She'll inform what's going on in the White House the same way Martha Logan did last year.
As Day 6 draws toward the two hour finale, some of the old 24 magic returns. With a nod to last season, a major character from CTU will die, though that's all we'll say. Says Gordon. " The purpose isn't to shock but to give new meaning to the characters who survive. It's the gift the dead give the living."The main event, though, comes when Jack's psycho father Phillip returns for a showdown that gets very personal. It turns out the focus is Jack's nephew Josh, and whether Jack can protect him from the evil plot Jack's father has set in motion.
"The face off between Jack and his father is really about the legacy of the Bauer family," Gordon says. " Who's going to control the next generation." That may sound grandiose but it makes the mechanics of their battle incredibly exiting. " For Jack, it's also quite painful." Says Sutherland," Jack was extricated from the relationship with his father a long time ago, and now that it's back in his face, it reminds him how seperate and alone he is."Seperate and alone is a good way to describe Jack. Most of the people he knows are either dead or want him dead, and even Audrey is a mere shell of the person she once was. Jack is ending the season "questioning all that's happened to him over the years," Gordon says.
"In that way, the final episodes " touch on a sensitivity that is rarely seen in Jack," Sutherland says. " He started the season in an emotional state like we've never seen him, seemingly indiferent. Now he's at the opposite end, full of emotion-and it's actually heartbreaking."
We could tell you more. Like that someone you thought was long dead is coming back with a vengeance ( yes, it's true) or that at least one couple get to have a happy ending ( no its not Cheng and Jack) But let's look ahead instead to next season, since that's all anyone's talking about around set these days."I'd like to see a huge departure," Sutherland says. " We go back and forth from the WHite House and CTU to the field, but I'd like to see that change up. I'd like to see Jack work in the outside world." Gordon adds, " The idea of moving out of LA is definetly interesting. If it's feasible production wise, we'd love to see the show set elsewhere and see Jack do something completly new."Hmm. Next year's an election year. Maybe there's a job for Mr. Bauer in Washington.
I would love DC that would be terrific. I wonder if they would film much of the season there. They could also move up the coast to San Fran or Seattle either one of those cities would be different from LA.

LOL I love the Jesus one. I really hope Nina doesn't walk up to Jack and shoot him or something, now that would be depressing. I think it has to be Tony.

I still imagine what 24 would be like if Sherry Palmer is still around for the vamp/camp value.

I think having Jack Bauer in Washington or New York next season would be an interesting idea the question is are they going to follow though on moving away from LA next season because wasn't there a rumor there were going to do that this season.

Which one is Tony?
Which one was that president who got shot in the throat? I hope HE returns!

I'm becomed convinced that it's Logan. It's the only reason I can think that they'd leave us in the dark about him.

Logan will kind of be a letdown. Not that he's returning, but because this spoiler has been hyped so much. The show should have returned to him anyway.

You're probably right. If only because they never resolved that storyline. It certainly would be a letdown.

All three of those endings are shit.
The first one sounds like the most believable. The Logan one is the worst. "For you see, Jack. It was not Nina who was killed, but rather her identical twin!"
Arse.

I'm calling it right now - Sean Astin. As for taking the show away from Washington and CTU, well I don't want to give too much away, but let's just say that a certain prep school filled with the kids of rich and powerful Americans might be having a few terrorist problems of its own. And you can bet that only Sean and Jack can stop it!
