 Re: American Idol Season 11
He was a self-righteous little douchebag.
But like, shouldn't he be blaming God and not Gaga?

He's seriously blaming Lady Gaga? Did she hold a gun to his head to sing that song or what? What a tool.

I'm glad Colton is gone. Douche.

 Re: American Idol Season 11
I can't believe someone thought it was a shock.
Anyway, great top 6 now.
-P2 should make top 4 at least. I dig everything he does. -Jessica is perfection. I hope she breaks the Saved rule and makes the finals with P2. -Elise is perfectly flawed. Great here, so-so there. But I really admire her choices. Can't take criticism though. -Skylar is the best country singer they've had since Carrie. Not the biggest country fan but I can appreciate when it's really good, and she's really good. Could be a spoiler in the final weeks. -Hollie is really sweet and can be a great singer. Just has trouble connecting when she performs. You need to have that with the audience. -Same for Joshua. When he's great, he's incredible. But even at his best, I never feel a connection to him. He's acing it always, he does everything right, but he's missing a key ingredient that cannot be taught: audience connection.

If I had to predict, Hollie is next, and either Joshua or Elise after. I don't see a top 3 that doesn't include P2, Jessica or Skylar.

 Re: American Idol Season 11
Just read an article on Colton. I love when something goes right, it's fine, but when he sucks, he "wasn't himself".
I love that J-Lo told Colton he'll have a career after this. Is there a high demand for Christian posers who plays safe music with zero soul? Unless he enters the Christian rock world...

 Re: American Idol Season 11
Hollie is seriously peaking at the right time. She's officially a contender if someone else slips up.
Phillip is hitting a spot right now where the general public might be tiring of hearing the same thing every week. Undoubtedly everyone is stepping up big right now, but Phillip's performance this week could be played alongside one from six weeks ago and you'd likely find very few differences. I'm not seeing him as a lock for the victory right now.
Joshua is great at these big songs, which he did two of this week. He has to be careful in selection this week. If he chooses wrong, he will finish in 4th.
Jessica has an incredible voice. But, where I once wondered each week what Jessica would do next, I now find myself wondering what Hollie will do next. I'm sure I'm not alone.
Skylar had a bad week. Not bad singing, bad luck. Everyone played big this week. If someone had bombed, she was an easy contender for finals. But, wrong place, wrong time. Any other season, she would've made a big run for the win.

He seems to be getting points from the judges for singing around the melody and like... de-harmonizing or something, but from my perspective he's just royally screwing up and has been for two/three weeks now. He should have gone home instead of Elise, he should have gone home instead of Skylar, and he should have gone home instead of... well, not Colton. Colton sucked.

 Re: American Idol Season 11
He's not bombing necessarily. I like his performances. But it's getting to the point where going big gets you into the finals, and he's not going big. It would be against him to do it, but it may cost him in the end.

 Re: American Idol Season 11
skylar's exit took ai11 from potentially greatest top 4 ever to standard idol fare
you've got the blonde that no one really wants around, but is bringing her (relative) a game you've got a tuneless white guy with a guitar and you've got two strong vocalists, depending on what your style is, who lack personality (in joshua's case: the show doesn't let him have personality)
the joshua, jessica, skylar top 3? that was ace.
it saddens me because, er, the voice was such a stinker after the superbowl episode...and i need my vocal show fix.

 Re: American Idol Season 11
IMO this is one, or if not THE best top 3 ever for AI since... Season 2?. If Phillip end up going home and i believe he will (please) the finale will be awesome! I dont care who win, but im leaning toward Jessica since i live 10 minutes away from her hometown and all my moms side of the family lives there.

However, I really can't remember much of the past top 3s. Clay, Ruben...??? Kelly, Justin...??? David, David...??? Catherine, Taylor...??? Carrie, Bo...??? Gosh, I'm trying to think on the fly here and I can picture some of the top two but can't remember the names and then I can't even think of any 3rd place people except for Kimberly Locke. Fill in the blanks so we can break this down.

Season 4 was nice, too.
Season 8, with Iraheta over Gokey, would be the best.

Danny Gokey getting voted off right before the finale is still my favorite thing that has ever happened on this show.

 Re: American Idol Season 11
Still bitter that Haley Reinhart got booted before the finale. Then there was the whole "OMG Lauren can't sing!!" drama before the actual finale, and there was that brief period where we thought Haley might make it after all.
Damn AI.

P.S. one week until Kris Allen's second album comes out everyone yessssss
