In the first 3 days, out of the 12.1 mil. units sold, 11 mil. were dvds. That means it has sold more than 22 mil. DVDs (more like 26-27 mil. DVDs)

I'm not surprised. Shrek 2 is like the only movie I see that is on sale every single week. The perfect Christmas gift for kids, I suppose.

Heh. Forgot about this thread...

Anyways, I didn't expect Team America to do well on DVD, either. A lot of people I know say things like, "why would you watch a movie with puppets? It looks stupid."

White Noise had a suprisingly good hold from last weekend. Also, Flight of the Pheonix has done great. On a more depressing note, people are actually buying Son of the Mask. ](*,)

With such good numbers for DVD rentals lately, I think I'll track this again.

July 26th week:

Hehe, XXX2 made about the same amount on its opening weekend. :)

The Upside of Anger did well, too. Pretty much all the holdovers are doing well, like Hitch (which should pass $70 million), MC2, Hostage, The Pacifier, Coach Carter, and Million Dollar Baby, which all should pass $50 million.
