I have had my Blu-Ray player for almost a year and can honestly can't see THAT much of a difference.

It's not a VHS-to-DVD type leap in quality, but there is a notable difference. Blu-ray image quality is crisper, more detailed. I can still easily watch a DVD, though.

The sound quality is also much improved.

Latest to join in the Blu-ray bandwagon. Took a loooong time before I got myself a blu-ray player and the right TV, was worth the wait! Currently have 10 titles so far. :)

The best thing is how much stuff they can put on the disks so instead of 20 dvds for a tv series it's only 4-5.

I've had a Blu-Ray playing PS3 since December 2006. I love the up-converting feature, still buy just as many DVDs as Blu-Rays.

Soon it'll be 1 or 2 disks with the upcoming use of 1 terabyte and 2 terabyte Blu-ray discs.

I wonder what if anything they will try to do for a disc-based (or hardware-based) successor to blu-ray for home video.

Next thing will be walking into a DVD store and downloading your movie onto a USB stick, paying the man and bob's your uncle.

I don't collect DVDs anymore. I have all the Stallone's on DVD and VHS, but that's it. I used to have hundreds but sold them all to move to China, now I really don't see the point anymore.

This was because I never had the HDMI cable hooked up. ;)

My collection is pretty weak right now, but it will continue to grow as prices drop.

Picture quality is noticeable, but the added buck is not worth it.
