It is more coherent.

Don't mistake me. It is rewarding to watch the long version with its hitherto unseen insights, but I enjoyed the short one more.

'The Life of Dino G. White': It is only funny from the outside. Do not attempt to sit through it.

You once posted something in the snobs forum that suggested otherwise, but I cannot prove it.

I think I stated that I wanted to see the long version.

I watched Contempt for the first time yesterday. Whether you enjoy it or not, it's a good buy because the Criterion may be going out of print.

Yeah, that's partly why I bought it. They lost the rights to the film.

What'd you think?

PS: check out the announcement at the top of the page...congratulations!

I would also really like The Leopard and the Bergmann Masterworks set, but I think I'll wait until my credit card statement mellows out a tad (fortunately, though, I'm not in debt...yet).

Is there a big difference b/w the 1999 Seventh Seal release and the 2009 Seventh Seal release? The set has the 1999 release.

okay, so I doubt anyone (but kypade) is interested, but I highly recommend the made in usa dvd. I know you probably haven't heard the best things about the film (unfairly, I think), but it's entertaining at the very least, but more importantly, it's the best looking transfer I've ever seen. it's worth the $13 from the B&N sale just for the colors.

snack, I'm told Made in USA is nigh-unwatchable. You strike me as a Godard apologist.

unwatchable for those of lesser intellect, sure. It's by no means a well made movie, but it's amazingly unpretentious for how intellectual it is, so I can see why the bourgeoise consensus is middling - Godard doesn't bother to signpost his ideas here, so it's found to be impenetrable masturbation. But the colors are pretty for $13.

I got it for about six dollars on the B&N sale. Seemed like a good idea at the time. I enjoy lighter fare.

No, it was my roommate's, thank christ! I actually had wanted it, but he beat me to it. Worked out for everyone; he enjoyed it, somehow.
